Awful first time experience for our young daughter who took our new puppy in on her own. She was spoken to in a very belittling & humiliating manner by the vet who saw her. TOTALLY unnecessary & it left her very upset. Will never go there again.

I have been with Shortheath for the past 4 years and of late have been more than I would like. However I cannot fault the surgery, Rachel, one of the vets is compassionate, professional and very empathetic. Extremely knowledgeable with our dog’s aging limbs! Milo has a particular soft spot for Lauren who works on the front desk, she is brilliant with him and always makes both Milo and I feel at complete ease. Both Rachel and Lauren are an asset to the surgery - thank you ladies.

I visited Shortheath Vets today expecting to have my cat spayed, but left without the procedure being done after being quoted £230 on the day. This is far above the going rate — most places charge no more than £140 — and yet I received no advance pricing, no email confirmation, and no pre-op care instructions whatsoever. Luckily, I knew not to feed my cat after midnight, but if I hadn’t looked that up myself, it could have put her at risk — a worrying lack of basic communication. This isn’t the first time we’ve had issues. On a previous visit, my partner and I were randomly and unexpectedly charged £100, and even the staff couldn’t clearly explain what the charge was for. We were put on the spot and made to pay, despite no one being sure what the cost covered. It felt incredibly unprofessional. To top it off, the receptionists are consistently rude and dismissive, speaking down to you as if you’re an inconvenience. There’s no warmth, no reassurance — just attitude. Thankfully, I’ve now found another vet who was kind, clear, and charges HALF the price. If you want better care, fairer pricing, and respectful service, I strongly recommend Vets4Pets at Pets at Home or Castle Vets in Farnham instead. Shortheath Vets is not somewhere I’d trust again.

From the moment I called to request an appt for my cat who has had an acute turn of suddenly not feeling himself, both my cat and I have been well cared for. From Sarah in reception to Lucy the practice manager with a slight and unusual admin hiccup that was swiftly corrected and to Ewa who has shown great attention to detail in caring for my feline as well as putting my mind at ease with regular and compassionate updates. I have every faith that everything possible in the best interests of my cat's welfare is & will be carried out. Thank you

Great service again today from the staff at Shortheath after one of our cats was attacked. Emergency app, antibiotics and pain relief all within an hour of calling them. Thank you my daughter was very relieved.
