Wonderful! Whilst some hotels ' idea of being dog friendly is to take your extra money and put you in a scruffy broom cupboard, Norwood Hall really IS dog friendly. A lovely receptionist showed us to our room and then to the door closest to our car to make taking in luggage and dogs really easy. The hounds got a welcome pack and there was plenty of space in the splendid room for 2 big dog beds. Warm, spacious and spotlessly clean with a large comfortable bed our room was ideal with a great view of the grounds which are custom made to exercise the beasts. All the staff were very friendly and efficient and the best vegan breakfast I've had in a very long time just added to a very enjoyable experience . Thanks to all.

I just spent the past four nights at the Norwood, and it was wonderful. Beautiful old building with intricate detail work all over. Very old feeling, without feeling run-down. Staff were helpful and courteous, food was delicious, room was clean and well kept, water pressure and temperature great. I will stay here again I’m sure. Maybe when it’s not snowing so I can explore the grounds a bit.

I attended an event on the 31st of October and was really impressed with the beautiful location. The staff even mentioned that their afternoon tea was amazing. I called a few days later to make a booking for a group of eight but the phone just rang. I tried again the next day, left a voicemail along with my phone number, and waited. Today is the 20th of November — more than 15 days later — and I still haven’t had any response. Unfortunately, this experience has been very disappointing, and I won’t be returning.

My wife and I got married here in 2024, we came back to celebrate our anniversary and the staff were absolutely amazing. They gave us our wedding room which made the whole stay so much more special.

We had high hopes for Norwood Hall Hotel, but our stay was marred by a series of frustrating issues. We had to change rooms three times. The first was directly over the reception area of a wedding—music was blaring so loudly it felt like a stereo in our room. The night manager admitted this room was “notoriously bad” and moved us to another… only to find it half-used, with water bottles open and the bed disturbed. He quickly turned it for us, and by midnight we were resettled. The second room was blessedly quiet, but the bed was so uncomfortable we had to move again the next morning. The third room, at the far end of the building, was quiet and the bed comfortable enough, but it was hot and muggy. The in-room safe didn’t work, which was unsettling—especially after a casual remark from the night manager about a “tendency for theft” among cleaning staff. Breakfast was good, though the servers seemed oddly stiff and secretive. Despite placing the “room service” sign out on our wedding day, housekeeping never came. Our first night’s dinner was enjoyable, and they kindly comped a couple glasses of champagne, but after that, there was no acknowledgement from staff that we were celebrating a wedding. Small but telling inconsistencies added to the disappointment—some rooms had shampoo and conditioner, others didn’t; amenities varied from room to room. The building itself is beautiful, with impressive grounds, charming hallways, and lovely dining spaces. It feels like a place that could be exceptional, but either ownership or upper management has let standards slip. I can’t speak for what’s happening behind the scenes, but the staff’s subdued, almost oppressed demeanor was noticeable. Sadly, the bones are there, but the experience fell far short.

Beautiful hotel, professional, friendly staff, and a real treat to stay here. Food is delicious, and vegan options are some of the best I've had. Afternoon tea in the library was relaxing and enjoyable. You might even feel the presence of one of several resident ghosts! Well worth a visit.

Room was very nice, comfortable and clean. Hotel is very grand and lit accordingly, which creates a fantastic atmosphere. I had an evening meal in the restaurant which is way overpriced. A service charge is added to your bill for using this facility, without your knowledge, so watch out for that. Soup starter and fish main with a side of broccoli and sparkling water cost £51. Anyway, the food was delicious and the service was exceptional.

We have stayed here twice. Both times we have visited a wonderful hotel that is filled with character and charm. On both occasions the staff were attentive, polite and well trained. The food, both breakfast and dinner, was excellent. The rooms are a little bit dated, but are very clean and well maintained. Overall an excellent hotel run by a motivated, professional team.

There for a Christmas party. Good food and a good night was had. The only downside was the big gap in receiving the courses for the meal, big gap between main and dessert, so much so that a lot of people ended going to the bar. I understand that there was a wedding in the main hotel so not sure on how it works re getting the food to the other suits. Disco and music kept everyone on the dance floor so all good there.

My husband and I booked our wedding here back in 2019 for 2022 and the whole process was amazing. All the staff were so helpful and kind. The hotel is absolutely stunning and Julie the wedding co-ordinator showed us round the venue and was so knowledgeable about the hotel and its history. We've been a few times for food and it has always been amazing, couldn't fault the food or the service. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect, Aimee, Jordan and Adrian were all really helpful on the day and kept us right. The grounds were just so pretty for photos and the rooms we stayed in were perfect. Thank you for making our day very special.
