From the original review on Facebook - Sally Harding Counselling and Hypnotherapy KM recommends Sally Harding Counselling and Hypnotherapy : "Where do I start? I feel like I need to explain a little first. I think it’s important to explain my struggle in the hope to help someone else and help them realise that they aren't alone and that they can get better if they get the right help. I am gonna write one heck of a review, but i feel detail is key, if you are on Sally's page it's because you are struggling with something, so i want to be open and honest with you all. I have suffered with anxiety and depression for about 18 years. It has gotten worse as I have gotten older. The last 15 years I have suffered with ROCD and intrusive thoughts. I believe this is due to events in my childhood. I'm not going to go into detail but I basically had very dysfunctional thoughts, emotions and responses to life situations which were not helpful. I pushed people away and found it hard to form relationships. Being vulnerable wasn't something I would allow as I promised myself at 8 years of age I wouldn't need a man and I was going to be a strong independent woman :) I then fell in love…… which believe it or not, exacerbated my mental health issues. I am very good at hiding it and putting on my game face. The depression, anxiety, and intrusive thoughts took the joy out of my life. I lived in fear waiting for these thoughts and feelings to come back, they always did. The last 14 years have been filled with sadness, fear and anxiety. I believe in accountability and so wanted to make changes and choices to make myself better and get rid of these horrible thoughts and emotions, so I have tried to make myself better. I have done all of the following: Clean eating, exercise, counselling, taking weird and wonderful supplements, taking a course in understanding anxiety, not eating sugar, not having aspartame. I decided after trying the above and none of the above working that i would go and see my GP. This was a second visit - they agreed for me to trial antidepressants. I took them but after 8 months the thoughts came back, so the dosage was increased. I was ok but relapsed again after another 8 months. My medication was increased again. The anxiety, depression and intrusive thoughts were less so, like in the back ground and i was able to dodge them/it. Then the dreaded thoughts came back again last November. A new medication was amazing! It eased my intrusive thoughts but the side effects were unpleasant. I then thought I should try CBT and that's when I found Sally. Sally has been amazing. She clearly knows her stuff and has a passion for what she does. She helped me realise that not all thoughts and feelings are helpful, that sometimes our brains get stuck on thoughts, like a misfiring within an electrical circuit. Sally also questioned my thoughts and helped me to assess things differently and take different approaches. It is now getting to the end of February, I am no longer needing any medication for my intrusive thoughts, anxiety and depression. Wow ay! I believe this is down to myself but also the support of Sally!! I feel like I have so much more control over my life, those thoughts and feelings are just thoughts and feelings and they will pass. I cannot thank Sally enough for helping me get a better, less scary life back. Thank you Sally xx"

When I first met with Sally I was completely overwhelmed by my negative thoughts, depression and anxiety. I felt broken and ashamed that I could no longer cope with life’s ups and downs and I regarded therapy as a sign of failure. With Sally’s help I now realise that my childhood and previous traumas have influenced my life now. My family let me down, I didn’t fail them. Sally has taught me that it is possible to change my thought processes. I now have a more positive outlook on life and feel better equipped to handle whatever life throws at me. I feel stronger and more in control. My self confidence and the way I feel about myself is improving too. I also sleep better (thanks to the breathing exercises and Sally’s recordings). Sally, I can’t thank you enough for improving my overall wellbeing. I look forward to continuing our sessions! Finding the right counsellor makes all the difference and Sally is it!

Sally was extremely relaxing from our first meeting and made me feel at ease. I noticed the benefits of these sessions after our first appointment, my confidence improved and I felt more in control of my fear of heights. Would recommend to friends and family.
