   The perfect place for a break from it all, with plenty of walks or places of interest nearby for day trips in the car - ideal as a base for the Peak District. Lodge was lovely and clean and we enjoyed having the micro-brewery at the bottom of the driveway! Sits in its own elevated grounds, so private and peaceful. Highly recommended.

   Water Bailiff’s Lodge was wonderful, and Wendy was the perfect host! The cottage is very well equipped, and there are many extra touches like a very generous welcome pack and plenty of logs for the fire. The cottage is very well-situated on the edge of Matlock, with a lovely pub within easy walking distance. We were a party of six, and the accommodation was perfect for us – a master bedroom with a king size bed, a double and a twin room, and two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other a jacuzzi bath. Waking up in the morning to the sound of birds, and planning a lovely walk in the Peaks, and then returning to a cold beer, supper around the kitchen table, with the log fire burning in the living room, and reminiscing over a glass or two of wine was perfect. Highly recommended!
