Nice waiting area, with coffee machine available for use. ENT Mr Borsetto quickly reassured me that my ear issues were not chronic, and also diagnosed a deviated septum I had literally no idea or symptoms of! Took the time to explain the causes of my symptoms and ran all necessary tests in the 15-minute appointment. Highly recommended.
I had the displeasure of meeting and orthopaedic spinal consultant yesterday at Spire Lee Cambridge. I knew it was a short appointment for the charge, but he wanted me out in five minutes. Considering it’s a back issue, he didn’t even look at my back. I sat in the chair and he wiggled my leg once and said I had a great range of motion which I don’t. He told me I had a stress fracture which obviously made me cry. There was zero sympathy when he told me I couldn’t do the one thing I love which is exercise. And then sent me off for an x-ray whilst still crying not once even offering me a tissue. The fact I had to pay for the privilege is disappointing and frustrating and I expected better. If this was service at any other establishment, I would ask for my money back.
Sad to say that my wife has had a very poor experience at the Spire. After a breast screening, things have rather fallen apart after getting a referral to another hospital in London. The Spire has completely failed to deliver the mammograms or liaise in a decent way with her requests for passing on information to allow her to be properly seen in the new hospital. This is reducing her chances of successfully removing her breast cancer...
Hip replacement ( 4th joint surgery) with the wonderful Mr Vince. Special thanks to him, despite the problems! All the staff were brilliant - housekeeping, nurses, admin, physios and anyone I’ve forgotten! Everyone was so helpful and polite and care was excellent throughout
Not like it used to be. A couple of months ago I had a small procedure to aspirate two cysts from my foot. I noticed one was still there the next day, The consultant didn’t want to know. My niece is a nurse and she said it wasn't even punctured. So basically I paid for a job that was half done. I went to a nice Clinic just outside Cambridge a week ago and had that one successfully removed there.
Enquired to book a private scan. Left all my contact details. 3 days ago and have not heard anything back. So have gone else where.
absolute waste of time and money, edited to say, I was booked in for a consultation today to see about a discectomy because i have been suffering for years with sciatica, only to be NOT OFFERED one, and told to lose weight and do yoga.... even though im self funding... very disappointed to say the least
I had a full hip replacement operation here last week and I can honestly say my whole experience was excellent. The consultant, nurses, anaesthetist, radiographer, physiotherapist, catering team were all so kind, caring and friendly plus extremely efficient. Would highly recommend
I was recently at the Spire Lea Cambridge (September 2022) for an operation with an overnight stay and I cannot recommend the hospital enough! The facilities are wonderful, the menu was great, the operation was handled extremely well and the staff are absolutely fantastic! From the reception staff at check in to the catering staff, nurses and all the other health practitioners - they made quite a large operation the best experience it could be for that kind of thing!
So, my operation was cancelled a few days ago, and neither my consultant nor Spire are telling me about when operation will be rescheduled. The only advice handed out was “if you’re in pain, phone NHS.” Great. £6,500 spent right there. “Your health doesn’t have to wait”… ON YOUR WEBSITE! YOUR WORDS!
