What a wonderful place. Easy parking. Play park and a historical beach. Went there looking for sloe berries to make a famous Christmas tipple. They were in abundance!!! Beautiful sandy beach and we saw a seal!!! Also found some other foraging gems although the toad stool (Fly agaric) is very poisonous!!
Great place to park up and have a beach walk or picnic. Fantastic children's play area and cafe. Interesting d day info further along the beach
This is a lovely park along the Solent. There is the beach (shingle), a sensory garden, paths through the woods, and a café (very clean, small shop). There is a car park (administered by Hampshire County Council = expensive)
Lovely circular walk through the countryside and along the coast. Really easy 2hr walk. Only downside with dogs is there's a lot of barbed wire fences, my Springer Spaniel got a cut on her back, luckily nothing serious.
My friend and I took the dogs to Lepe on a week day and although it was the Easter holidays it wasn't overly busy which was nice. There's lots of parking and we parked in the top car park where there is a lovely green area for picnics and far reaching views. . We walked down past the cafe to the beach and turned to the left and had a lovely walk along the beach, down past the nature reserve. It's a lovely mixture of beach and countryside and of course the New Forest is just down the road for more lovely walks. This is a hidden gem of a place, perfect for families. Parking was £8, there is an adventure play area for kids and there is a block of clean toilets just behind the cafe.
For a winter walk along a beach with a friend for a chat and a packed lunch it was an ideal day. We must have walked for about 2 hours including sitting for lunch and saw less than half a dozen people but the wildlife was beautiful. We watched an heron and an egret fishing and flocks of seabirds on the beach catching food as the tide went out. Although the weather was a bit chilly and cloudy it was a beautiful walk to clear out the cobwebs of winter. I also couldn't see one piece of litter!!! Lovely views of the Isle of Wight and ships going into Southampton.
Had a lovely trip to Lepe Country Park. The park is well kept with so much to do for all the family. The beech is very clean, with plenty of space for everyone, care is needed as the currents in the solent can be very strong. The park also boasts area away from the sea with grassed sections for family games and just chilling out. There is also loads of seating available overlooking the solent with views across to the Isle of Wight. There is a new building here with a small souvenir shop and a cafe. The cafe has some amazingly fresh cakes, as well a very tasty menu, for the whole family. The coffee here is great and well worth a try. If you are near the area, give it a go, we will be going again soon, especially on a really hot day, as the breeze was very welcomed.
The beach and country park are a hidden treasure, with a well equipped cafe and parking facilities right on the beach front. The beach is gravelly and has some rocks. Swimming can be dangerous here, as there’s a riptide that runs out toward the Isle of Wight where the tides meet. Great for windsurfing and kayaking.
First time visit and was totally amazed with the views across to the isle of wight, could not believe how close it was. The raised wooden cafe here is just superb with an outside seating area to soak up the views and sunshine. The cafe caters for light lunches and full on cooked breakfasts, and light refreshments from teas and coffee and soft drinks. Just outside there is a kiosk where you can purchase ice creams and cold drinks. There are toilets in the cafe as well as outside toilet facilities. Overall very impressed.
