   First of all, the food is excellent. However, we ordered food for delivery and it took two hours to arrive. When it arrived it was lukewarm. We did call when it was running late and was told they were busy and only had one delivery driver. She did apologise. Shame really as the food is good.

   Food was nice and very hot. Chicken wings were tasty but a bit too chewy. Restaurant is small. The main issue we had was that we were not pre-warned that we had a limited time at the table. Once we had finished our meals, 4 of us, we were not asked if we wanted tea, coffee or desert. Then to our surprise the lady waitress/front of house, said "you have to go now, other people have arrived" and somewhat abruptly plonked the bill in front of my husband. Although we understand it is a small establishment and they want to cram in as many customers as possible, it felt very conveyerbelt! We should have been told at the start and she could have been more polite about it. It was, you've had your meal, now go! For this reason, I don't enjoy being rushed to eat and to leave and to not be told, or offered a tea or coffee or desert, so I am put off now. Then they ask for 10% service charge on top! My husband refused this, and gave 5%. However, in hindsight, we agreed we should not have given any tips due to the manner we were told to leave. I wonder very much if others have experienced this there? I have been to lots of restaurants, and am aware that you sometimes have a set time, which is fine and understandable, but this was always made very clear at the booking/beginning and done in a more polite way.

   I've got family in the Beverley area, and they had mentioned this restaurant (Sumo Pan Asian) a few times. On my last visit, we decided to go there one evening. Wow ! Amazing. My favourite food happens to be Thai food, and this was, indeed, a lovely treat. It's Pan-Asian, so a mixture of all the delicious tastes or the east. I had a Beef Pad Thai and a Crispy Duck Boa Bun ... OMG sooo nice, flavourful and delicious. My brother had a Bento Box and I can't remember exactly what dad had, but I think it was pork. and we had some mixed vegetables to share. All looked and smelled amazing. The restaurant is 'bijou' and but atmospheric. All the tables were full and the place was abuzz. Sumo Pan Asian is located in the Flemingate Shopping Centre, amongst a host of other restaurants. So glad that we chose this one though. Great prices, great food, friendly staff. What more could you want. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed. They do take-aways too, of course.

   First time ever at Sumo. Me and two friends went. We decided to chose multiple items each and then share, so that we could try more of the dishes. We really enjoyed it all. I particularly enjoyed the ribs, gyozas, chips, tempura & fried chicken. I have tried to put the names of the dishes next to the photos. I didn't take a photo of the vegetarian gyozas but they were amazing! Staff were lovely and patient with us while we made our minds up!

   Got a takeaway on a Sunday afternoon and I am not kidding you it was the best Chinease/asian I’ve ever had. Flavours were amazing, everything cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to eat that food again.

   Great food, not the cheapest, but the quality was really good. Udon Noodle Soup, Chicken Katsu Curry & some Spring Rolls. All really tasty, fresh & well presented. My eldest daughter particularly enjoyed it. I suspect we'll be back before long... best to book though as it's got very limited seating. Small, but perfectly formed!

   Not a proper restaurant, like many people, it seems, I accidentally booked this place instead of Soju sumo in the centre of Beverley. Why they take bookings for what is essentially a take away is a moot question. I booked weeks ahead and confirmed the booking before hand. Even so, they did not have a table available and when we were seated there was barely room for 3 of us ( the booking was for 4 but one friend was ill) . They have a perfectly good restaurant where diners can go and enjoy an evening out. They are basically ruining their customers' evening just to squeeze in a few more covers and make a few extra quid. The food wasn't very good either.

   The new Sumo Pan-Asian restaurant in the Flemingate Centre is open daily for lunch and then in the evening. We decided to first try out the takeaway menu. Online ordering is quick and the service is efficient. A good selection of starters and main courses are offered. We tried Crispy Duck Bun, Sumo Spicy ribs as starters and Katsu curries and Special Wok Fried Rice. We ordered for four but as two of us are pensioners with limited appetites, what we had, equated to three adults. The food was certainly tasty, well- presented but expensive. At nearly 48 pounds, you are looking at 16 pounds per person. Be warned that you do not get a lot. Hungry customers may well be disappointed. You can get just as good elsewhere in Beverley for considerably less.
