What a lovely place. Went in for lunch - great Sunday roast and such a lovely team serving (they squeezed us in without a booking but I can see why it was full after us!). We're not local but I definitely want to go back. Loved the atmosphere of a proper pub inside as well, and would love to spend time on the terrace in the summer.

We have just enjoyed our second visit to The Bluebell this year. Once again we were staying in ‘Safe Harbour’ which has a fitting nautical theme and the most lovely view down to the mill pond. Like our visit in August every aspect of our stay was perfect from the friendly welcome to our farewell today. Our room was again spotlessly clean with crisp white linen. So many thoughtful extra touches are provided in the bedroom and the spacious bathroom. The breakfast choice is outstanding to the point it’s difficult to choose from the selection of dishes on offer. Everything is freshly cooked to order. We also had dinner on our last evening - the prawns, scallops, fish pie and lasagne were delicious. I think what makes a stay at the Bluebell so memorable is the relaxed but professional service from every member of staff - once again it felt like going home after a day out. I’m already booked for May next year ! Thank you again Giles to you and your team.

The menu is so varied and we had a lot of choice. Food delicious, plentiful and excellent value. Fantastic chef! Bar staff generally friendly. Cosy place. Long may it remain a hidden gem :)

I've started using this pub for lunches as the food is excellent quality and the staff are very pleasant. Today however slightly disappointed not with the quality of the food but portion control. Our mains were perfect and as a treat we ordered deserts. I ordered a Pear frangipane with cream and what turned up was a ramekin full of runny single cream and a slither (1.5cm) of frangipane with a tiny piece of pear (4mm) Im not saying it wasn't delicious but found it very hard to justify the £7.00 for what was really a taster, something a supermarket would give away as a tempter. I will return but wouldn't waste money on a desert again.

Had it not been for the broadcast of a soccer World Cup match simultaneously with our dinner booking and the fact that the TV was directly above our table, I would have awarded **** ! Four of the five of us had and enjoyed a generous, well cooked fish pie, while the fifth enjoyed her grilled gammon. We drank an adequate, inexpensive bottle of rosé. I would certainly go back again after the World Cup !

Great choice of pub food, including a good specials board. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The only thing I didn't like was that we had to ask to be moved from the first table we were given positioned immediately outside the gent's toilet which we could smell each time the door opened and closed!

Well, what à find. Absolutely heaving on a Monday evening. Good job we booked a table. The whole experience was first class, and the young staff are so polite and switched on. Will definitely be recommending and re-visiting.

Blue Bell’s the “got it all” pub in Emsworth village in terms of good quality drinks selection, good pub food and atmosphere. There’s aways a decent selection of beers on tap, relatively ok wine list (actually pretty good as far as English pubs go) and quite a wide range of gin. 90% of the time Blue Bell makes a mean burger, top notch fish and chips (90% of the time), tasty fish pie and more… basically the kitchen’s good and more consistent than the other pubs in town. The nautical decor and group of chatty locals create a good atmosphere for anyone who is looking for a relaxing sea side village feel in their pub.
