Favourite curry restaurant in Portsmouth. Food is always consistently great and always at a really good price. The staff are always warm and welcoming. Can't recommend enough!
We had a siblings and partners get together here last night. We arrived without booking (thinking we wouldn't need to on a Wednesday night). Party of 9, we were given a table straight away but were lucky as the back half of the restaurant was fully booked for students. The restaurant was almost full by the time we started eating. Despite how busy they were our service was really quick, drinks and poppadoms were served in good time. Our main meals also came in good time. The food itself was excellent, not one of us failed to enjoy our meal. I think we all had different dishes as well. Staff were really great, efficient, friendly couldn't ask for more really. The Akash is a very familiar establishment to Portsmouth folk and it's good to see that if anything the restaurant has just got better. If you've never been give it a go.
Underwhelming Im afraid. I realise that as a large group its not easy. However we booked well in advance arrived on time and nearly 1.5hrs to serve the mains after the starters. Seems like the management wanted to make extra profit from alcohol sale. When the mains were served the rice was cold as were the naans so had to be sent back. Considering it was a set menu to make it easier it was disappointing unfortunately
Absolutely love this place. Voted one of the best curry houses in the country and I can tell why. Really tasty food. Been here more than once and would always go back. Family run businesses are great and the service is exemplary. Highly recommend
The best Indian food I've ever eaten. It was spiced and seasoned to perfection. Just the right balance, which is very hard to find - many Indian restaurants just don't get it right. Large portions and the staff were amazing, gave us a discount when we hadn't asked which they didn't have to do at all. I cannot wait to go back.
Placed order to be delivered the delivery man called me 4times but my phone was in a different room when he called again to redeliver he couldn't even find my address yet he'd allegedly already been here. His English on the phone was disgraceful considering he's dealing with the public. The alleged manager didn't resolve to my certification order was eventually after 1-hour and 30-minutes cancelled. I don't know if the foods any good as it never arrived (what a joke). Manager asked me that when I call again to ask for him I said don't worry I won't be calling again trust me. No stars if I could.
Best curry house on the South Coast. Used for many years. For the best experience Eat in - however take away is still always spot on. Staff are always friendly, welcoming and attentive.
Fantastic food, friendly staff, great service and the owner is a real gentleman. Can't recommend this place highly enough!
Not as expected. Was surprised to see that some people who ate in the restaurant were allowed in the kitchen. Should be more careful specially during these pandemic times. The only thing I found good was the waiter Rafiq had exceptional customer skills. Charged for chutney which should be complimentary with starters atleast.
