   Something's happened, the food is totally different to how it used to be. The kung po bean curd was watery. Chips had been cooked in dirty oil. Such a shame, we had a good Chinese in Cowes and now barely edible.

   It seems that this restaurant has changed hands. I’ve been going here for seven years and each meal has always been perfect and worth the money. I went tonight and noticed it was all new people. I placed the order for 20:00 and showed up at the correct time to then wait twenty minutes for my food as they hadn’t of started to cook it! When we dished up the food we noticed that absolutely everything was different for the worst. Chips were undercooked and soggy, The egg fried rice tasted like marzipan, the duck was over cooked to the point it was very hard. The crispy shredded beef had hardly any beef and was so over cooked it was like a plastic texture. Such a shame this take away has taken a U turn.

   Food is always absolutely delicious, but our Shanghai Chicken last night had a thick black hair embedded in the crispy coating, which I only noticed near the end of my meal as I turned the piece over to cut it. Neither of us could then finish our food and I don’t think we’ll return. Sad times.

   every time we've had a chinese take away in cowes during the past 18 months, we've used 'Hong Kong House' because these guys beat the competition & cook & deliver consistently *very* fresh, *very* tasty, excellent food quickly (and the people taking phone orders are very polite too).

   Lovely food. Prices were really good too. Definitely recommend the chop sueys! Loses a star because they forgot our boiled rice! But was not disappointed as the rest of the food was really good.
