We visited El Greco Portsmouth last weekend and had the chance to preview their Christmas menu, available from 25 November to 26 December. The three course offering with a glass of prosecco for £39 is exceptional value and the food was genuinely outstanding. The traditional spetsofai and kleftiko were perfect for a chilly, rainy day and every dish exceeded expectations. We also had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, Kristo, who was incredibly kind and welcoming, and wonderfully patient with our children. Our daughter loved her pasta with cheese and our baby slept through the whole meal, which made the experience even more enjoyable. This was a true 10 out of 10 dining experience and we are already looking forward to returning with friends and family. Highly recommended.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Greek Restaurant! Absolutely fantastic meal! The food was fresh, flavourful, and truly authentic — every dish was packed with taste. The service was just as impressive: friendly, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. A brilliant experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Both my companion and I were very impressed with the service and the food at this restaurant. Both dishes were delicious, and we could tell how much care they put into every element on the plate. The flavours were surprising, and the portion sizes were also very good. To top it off, the service was great, and the place is quiet. We’ll be back. Thanks for everything.

Amazing experience! I'm Greek myself and the food and the atmosphere is close to home. I went there with my partner and had a wonderful time, Katerina was incredible and accommodating. There are no words to describe it, definitely recommend!

Newly opened and lovely. Fantastic food and lovely service. We just had tapas and all of the dishes were delish! Reason for 4 stars on service ... We booked a table for 6pm, Table was available on arrival but we were informed they needed it back by 8pm. We would have liked to stay longer but do accept in the current climate restaurants wanting to 'turn tables'. At 7.40 we were asked to pay the bill and told they needed the table back. They then moved the empty table next to ours, up to our table and put settings on it ready for our table. We were then told at 7.45 we needed to leave! Not great and tainted the experience but everything was lovely.

Absolutely superb food and service from this relatively new restaurant. The owner was always present and very keen to please and get feedback so he can improve. In my opinion there is nothing to improve currently. Our food took longer than expected as the place was busy but the atmosphere was so pleasant that we didn't really notice until we were offered free drinks for having to wait. When the food arrived we were more than delighted. The Lamb Kleftiko was the best I have tasted, the Gyros was plentiful and the halloumi chips were so tasty. We will definitely be returning and trying a new menu item every time! Keep going Chris, you're doing a sterling job.

Portsmouth finally has an authentic Greek restaurant with style, personality, service and fantastic food. Kristos has transformed the former Shorties venue into a beautiful fresh new venue and I know this place will thrive in Southsea. Lamb shank was absolutely delicious and fell off the bone. Great range of drinks too. Pricing extremely reasonable especially considering the quality of the food.
