   My 87 year old Mum recently lost her daughter (my sister) suddenly. She wanted new clothes for her funeral. Her 82 year old friend (who still drives) took her to Pocklington to find an outfit. Having found a dress elsewhere in Pocklington she found a jacket at Sassy & Chic. Once home she realised that the jacket didn’t go with the new dress. I took my Mum a week later to return the jacket. My Mum explained the situation however the woman in the shop could only be described as condescending and belittling. Pontificating with a fake posh accent over the fact that because the jacket was a sale item no credit note could be given. She also belittled my Mum stating that the notices attached to the counter (which were so small as to unnoticeable) explained the return policy. She then claimed Marks & Spencer’s policy was the same (bizarre). My Mum had no idea that it was a sale item. She had no idea of the return policy as this was neither explained nor were the minute notices pointed out during her original visit. Customer service zero, making an old lady who has just lost her daughter feel dreadful full marks. My advice avoid this place like the plague.

   Lovely gem of a ladies shop in centre of the town. Got a beautiful easy to wear green and white striped dress along with a great necklace to wear for my wedding anniversary. Very nice lady in the shop, friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back. Thank you xx
