   We visited today for a family lunch and had no idea it was under new ownership and their first sunday lunch. We were first in and the owners were so welcoming and lovely. They've freshed up the interior so thoughtfully. Its a really lovely pub with a brilliant team who were obviously giving it their all on their first lunch service. Great atmosphere and we'll definitely be back.

   What a wonderful welcome at this delightful country pub! We had walked miles and were enormously hungry. The food was plentiful and delicious and the lady who served us could not do enough. Don't hesitate if you're passing.

   Yep it’s true, 5* all the way. Proper country village pub, amazing reception and welcome on arrival, looked after Monty (our dog) as well as they looked after us. Two of us had the Sunday roast and two of us had the veggie wellington with all of the trimmings. Finished with syrup sponge and the apple crumble.

   I took a friend out at short notice to enjoy the spring flowers, and stop for lunch. We received a very friendly welcome, the service was excellent. Delicious home cooked food, generous portions - we couldn't manage a dessert. There was a cheerful atmosphere, local villagers were having their monthly meet, which tells you how much they value this pub. I didn't book, but I think we were lucky as it was Monday. Recommended.

   I hired out the skittle alley for a work function and we all had such a great time. Lorraine the land lady was super nice and helpful. The buffet was AMAZING and surpassed all our expectations. The pub is nestled away in a beautiful part of the countryside too. We'll worth a visit.

   Great place to stop for lunch when walking in the area. Called on the day to see if there was a table available and if dogs allowed. Couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Mentioned that short on staffing but they'd fit us in and go with it. Well it didn't notice that they were short. Met with a really warm welcome, shown to our table and made a fuss of our dog. Water and treat provided for the dog whilst we looked at the menu. Explained the fish was fresh in today. We all went for the fish and chips as a result, including the children's fish and chips and it was fantastic. Really good batter, even better fish and really good thick cut chips with a tangy tartar sauce to go with it. The chef was out to serve our food as well and brought more treats out for the dog. Not sure what was better, the service or the food. Couldn't fault either! Really enjoyable, thanks for having us over the festive period. Really appreciated the experience and quality family time.

   Fabulous cosy country pub with log fires and great quality pub food with clasdic dishes. Good efficient service from the owner plus a wide range of popular ales. Can highly recommend the Harvey's IPA. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the South Downs.

   Super friendly welcoming pub. We booked a table after a country walk there was 12 of us plus 2 dogs and the pub were super accommodating and attentive. The food was lovely and came out quick. The lasagne looked amazing! The pub is set in a beautiful location with a nice garden out the back and a good sized car park. Would absolutely visit again.
