   We booked Boxing Day set menu for us and our sons, daughter in law and baby grandson. Felt lovely and relaxed as soon as we arrived. We were shown straight to a table and given menus. I can’t fault anything about our visit. The food was absolutely delicious, and there was plenty of time between courses. Drinks were ordered and brought out quickly. Our server Matt was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble and he was really kind and friendly. A credit to the pub. Will definitely come back for. Sunday roast as our turkey dinner was scrummy. Really enjoyed our afternoon. Thanks Matt for looking after us and little Finley loved you

   Food was lovely, congratulations Harry on serving such fantastic food. Then we come our waiter Matt who was simply amazing. So very professional, courteous and attentive to our needs. We really couldn’t fault the evening . We are fortunate to our live a 15 minute walk away, so will definitely be coming back based on our experience tonight.

   Kasia was our server today and was very polite and attentive, amazing service! The refurbishment of the building looked really good to us, and the food was amazing. I had the calamari to start, rib-eye steak as main, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Delicious! And everyone else’s food looked amazing as well, everyone was very impressed.

   The welcome was lovely, the seating area was quiet (which I'd requested before) and Matt our server was efficient, charming and helpful. The food was absolutely lovely as always - I've been here a few times with the in-laws. We had 3 courses and enjoyed all of them. I found the peppercorn sauce with the steak to be quite bitter but perhaps it was just my taste. Matt did a check in with us after a few mins and I mentioned to him and he was really nice about it. He offered to get me a different sauce which I have to say was really nice and actually made the rest of my meal perfect! I appreciate that a tip is optional and it wasn't expected by Matt which is good because I get really grumpy at places nowadays that have just jumped on the American bandwagon and add a 'service' charge on automatically. We did choose to tip because he definitely deserved it having gone above and beyond with recommendations, changing the sauce and also helping me figure out how on earth to use the app. The chocolate orange desert was superb and something that could have appeared on Masterchef, so pretty and tasty!

   Dinner and a break. After a busy day we had a real challenge finding where to eat, after an hour sat on maps we chose Titchfield Mill. On arrival we asked for a quiet table and were really pleased with the small nook where we were seated. After a good look over the menu I was torn, lasagne or lamb shank,I decided on the shank, wifey went with the sea bass and the nipper went with a burger. Christina our server was very polite and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was amazing but the building it's self is looking a bit tired but definitely did not decrease the enjoyment of the food.

   We enjoyed visiting this pub, were looking at it before but first time visited for lunch on a Saturday impulsively. Happy that we did. Food was fantastic, hot, tasty, good portion. The young lady serving us, Lauren, was wonderful; quick, attentive, kind. I also liked the layout of the place. There are only a few tables are in each 'section' so it doesn't get noisy and I wasn't freezing like I normally do in these traditional pubs. Great experience, will be happy to visit again.

   After visiting the beautiful Titchfield Abbey we were ready for lunch. This was just a one minute drive down the road. Plenty of parking for customers (even some spots under the trees in the shade). First things first: Food was pretty average and I'd give three stars. But location and atmosphere are great and relaxing. That deserves an extra star. It's really an old mill right at a small river. The pub is beautiful inside as well and has a charming outside area to have lunch and dinner. Since it was a hot and sunny day we took a table outside. Our Bulldog was welcome as well. Ordered fried shrimp, shrimp & scallops and Fish'n'Chips. Since I was driving I had a coke instead of a beer. Fried shrimps were ok. Can't (almost) go wrong with fried food. The cooked shrimp and scallops were quite very good, nice herbal sauce. Fish'n'Chips were fine. Hot and crispy. Staff was friendly. Ordering by app was easy and prices fair. Food was all fine. But just nothing really different or special. Apart from the scallops/shrimp maybe. But still: An enjoyable lunch in a great setting.

   What a wonderful place for a special meal. Warm and inviting, well spaced tables and a cosy and relaxing atmosphere. Our server Jess and her trainee were awesome, perfect service and the food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back.
