“We were out and fancied a Sunday roast so we popped into the Cormorant. The server was polite and found us a table quite quickly. The service was prompt and the food was good. All in all a positive experience.”
“Absolutely delicious!!! We tried the Sunday roasts (one turkey one sirloin beef) and they were both so so good. Meat was soft and tasty, as all the other ingredients. Quality was great for very reasonable prices, staff was lovely and we got our food so quickly. We also got garlic bread which was very good and fresh. I highly suggest the place, loved everything about it and definitely will go back!! Such nice atmosphere.”
“It's a beautiful homely pub. Staff are amazing and very helpful. When they have live music the place is a buzz and you honestly feel like a member of a family”
“Had a brilliant visit to the fareham restaurant, the food was excellent but the waitress Mia made the visit superb. Her level of service is a credit to the harvester brand. She was rushed off her feet but still found time to check back with us on the food. Every bit of food was nicely presented and cooked to perfection. Mia asked if we had the app and I mentioned it was my wife's birthday and we already had a voucher, she then appeared with our deserts and a colleague and sang happy birthday. We will definitely visit again, not only for the food but for the first class service.”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Service from Rhea and Beth! Had an absolutely brilliant experience at Slug and Lettuce thanks to the amazing service from Rhea and Beth. From the moment we arrived, they were warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. Our food was brought out promptly — no waiting around or chasing anyone up — and everything was fresh, hot, and exactly as ordered. The 2-for-1 cocktails were an absolute highlight, and Rhea and Beth made sure they were served quickly and perfectly mixed every time. They checked in regularly without being overbearing and made us feel genuinely looked after throughout our visit. Their professionalism, efficiency, and friendly vibe made the whole experience feel extra special. Big thanks to both — we’ll definitely be back soon because of them!”
“The food is always amazing! Brilliant, speedy service. No doubt the best value for money takeaway in fareham.”
“Came here when it not long opened and was met with nothing but a smile and a warm welcome! Their entertainment is incredible and their prices for drinks and food is within an affordable price range!”
“Popped in for a flying lunch whilst we waited for our car to be recovered! Service was great start to finish from the young girl who served us (I’m sorry I can’t remember her name) and the food was great! Lovely and hot well presented and very tasty. The standard was a lot higher than I had expected from the chain! Will 100% be coming back! Many thanks”
“Some waiting. Decided to pop in for a sit down meal with the wife, we didn't book but it was pretty quiet for a Saturday. We were seated in a nice quiet corner by a lovely fire place. We order our drinks which took 10 minutes to get to the table, once we got our drinks we order our mains then we wait what seem like ages (actually 40 mins). The food was superb and well worth the wait sadly the waiting was not over. We then sat for a further 15 minutes with empty plates waiting for the desert menus. It was at this point we caught the attention of Woody who was super attentive and in a tiny pair of minutes had cleared our plates and we were browsing though the deserts, the desserts were prompt and really tasty. Woody had saved this meal for us and was keen and honest. We happily paid the top and would eat here again.”
“Great pub in the seafront for a meal or for a drink with friends/family. I had the fish and chips wich it was a decent protion and the fish was okay wich i was expecting haddock or cod and i had something else wich i never had it before. chocolate brownie with salted caramel sauce as a dessert and it was on the specials menu. Our nan had the crayfish spaghetti with chives and she said it was delicious, she would come back if the chef put it in he's menu. The atmosphere is good, nice views if you book a table next to the window, good costumer service from the waitress. I would recomend this place and I will come back if I'm arround the area.”
“We visited from out of town and recived a walm welcome. Asked if I specific football game could be shown on Boxing day and the Landlord kindly obliged (even gave us a little friendly banter for loosing). Nice beers/ ciders on tap, really well priced we were suprised how reasonable they are.Very clean (inc. toilets) well most certainly visit again when where in town. Thanks all.”
“We have booked a table for family birthday. mix tapas,Lamb shank. Normally we would have their fresh fishes as main, but this time we pre ordered a paella , it was so delicious . Everything was outstanding. The whole family enjoyed the evening . Big thank you to Antonio”
“Great selection of beers. No food. Friendly staff. Well worth a visit.”
“Amazing taphouse. If I owned and ran a place serving drinks, I would want it to be like this. I love spending time here. Great selection of beers from near and far, people behind the bar are great, wonderful atmosphere. Patrons are all chilled and so nice.”
“Absolutely loved this place, it was so cosy and the staff were amazing. The food came out quickly, tasted delicious and was presented so nicely. Definitely recommend and will return soon!”
“5 Stars. Sunday Lunch was delicious and the portion was generous. Their secret is a short menu done really really well. You can tell everything served is cooked in house. The staff were brilliant and delivered excellent service. Thanks we had a nice afternoon well done.”
“We had our Xmas party here, the food was really lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommend it”
“Decided to try Baja whilst we were in the area. The place is much smaller than we imagined it would be, but with it's atmosphere, it doesn't actually matter! Food was delicious, especially the wings! Decor was vibrant and the higher chairs surprisingly more comfortable than they look like they would be! Only small downside is the service could have been a little more warmer. Would visit again if we were local.”
“First visit - breakfast with a few people from work.. Excellent welcome was cheerful and welcoming.. service great with quick drinks whilst we waited for a latecomer. Breakfast was excellent all well cooked and fresh… 10/10 for the excellent quality sausages. Price fine for quality. First visit, but not the last.”
“Getting to be a regular here and love the welcome family atmosphere. Staff seem happy knowledgeable and keen to make your visit the best it can be. Food is always that cut above alternative eating establishments and worth the wait as this place fills up to the brim and you must book a few days ahead. Do say if something is not quite right. I reluctantly mentioned a minor detail and was made to feel welcome the issue more than resolved and no fuss. Thanks guys. They deserve a medal for the sterling effort to keep going all through covid and now as we start to feel safe out again. Food great as usual. Thanks.”
“Brilliant little country pub. A great family and dog friendly little gem tucked away in a hamlet. I had the pie and mash and it was phenomenal. Loads of steak, gravy and mashed potato. The desert, crumble with custard (obviously) was fantastic. And all very reasonably priced.”
“Kasia was our server today and was very polite and attentive, amazing service! The refurbishment of the building looked really good to us, and the food was amazing. I had the calamari to start, rib-eye steak as main, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Delicious! And everyone else’s food looked amazing as well, everyone was very impressed.”
“Great pub with food selection of real ales, very reasonably priced!”
“Classic privately owned pub with decent food and reasonable transparent prices. Definitely a 'local', but staff are still welcoming and helpful to all visitors. *Images correct as of 06/2025”
“Absolutely the best afternoon tea we’ve ever had. We also had some tempura prawns and calamari and we couldn’t believe how fresh and delicious it was. It is a bit pricey but in my opinion it is worth every penny. One afternoon tea is enough for two people then you can get a couple of bits on the side, which we did. Since going there last week we’ve been again as we still can’t believe how delicious it was.”
“The four of us at lunch today were 100% happy. Very friendly welcome, our food was served promptly and we all thoroughly enjoyed everything whilst apologising for not being able to empty our plates. Absolutely recommend the Steak Mushroom and Ale pie, but please starve yourself for 24 hours before hand. I was ashamed to leave so many chips and veg!!!! (My wife loved her liver and bacon but still couldn't finish even her 'smaller' portion.)”
“Absolutely fantastic lunch. Fabulous staff and service and delicious piping hot food. Definitely recommend.”
