What a wonderful find this beautiful little vegetarian/ vegan cafe was. We had spotted it a few times from the sea front and today was the perfect time to pop in and see what there was to offer and wow so glad we did, 3 of us all had the Lentil and Coconut broth with toasted sourdough which made this soup even more delicious. Accompanied by a tea, a green tea and a hot chocolate, we all enjoyed the food and drink and cannot wait to visit again. The staff were excellent very polite, helpful, friendly and welcoming, All of their bread, cakes, scones etc are freshly made on site in their own bakery which is amazing, taking home a few cakes to try which i have to say we're delicious, Something else that will make our next visit even better is that dogs are allowed in too. We are definitely going to make Birch our main go to cafe in Newcastle and I urge everyone give it a try whether you are vegan vegetarian or not this is a wonderful gem

This is my favourite cafe- itβs just perfection. The food is always amazing- itβs healthy and imaginative vegetarian/vegan food. Itβs so refreshing not only to have a choice of what to eat on the menu, but to have the problem of not knowing what to order. Iβve literally worked my way through the whole menu, as I had to try everything. The soup is always fantastic- you are promised weird and wonderful flavours- and they never disappoint. The staff are so friendly and the coffee is amazing. And the fact that dogs are welcome too is just the cherry on top.

Hands down the best coffee shop in Newcastle and easily in my top 3 coffee shops in the whole of Northern Ireland. I'm an absolute addict when it comes to their Protein Oats, in which I have probably spent enough money on them to fund a small country like Bosnia. (I have probably bought around 20-25 bowls of it since September 2024). The atmosphere is great with a city/hipster vibe, perfect for meeting with friends/family, working or reading. The staff are fantastic too and are very helpful and kind. All in all, this is a spot you must not skip over!

Stopped in yesterday and had the soup and bread. Sounds simple enough? How wrong was I. Fresh baked sourdough crispy bread to die for also a lovely celeriac, parsnip and apple soup. Very unassuming and unpretentious place but the food is right up there. Def be back

Enjoyed an absolutely delicious lunch here this afternoon. I visited with two non vegetarian friends who were pleasantly surprised. My soup and sandwich combo was outstanding - the sandwich filling was imaginative with several elements and they worked really well together. Great location, pleasant space and friendly service. Iβll certainly return when I visit again and Iβm confident my local friends will revisit too.

Firstly the food is incredible! Yeah it's vegetarian, which you won't even notice, but it's the best lunch spot in town by far. The breakfast bap with the miso onions is nearly the perfect breakfast sandwich, loads of care in the details. The staff and bang on and really friendly and coffee is solid too. I'd have taken some pictures of the food but honestly it was too tasty not to eat straight away.

Best place for coffee in County Down, had an amazing oat flat white and the smoked cheese and mushroom toastie was the best sandwich Iβve ever had! Fantastic views over the sea with very friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere to sit back and relax for a wee bit. New favourite coffee spot in NI β

We are not vegan but we are always on the lookout for tasty food. This was our second visit and the food was just perfect. I had the spring eggs and greens and my partner too... Great food which tastes even better than meaty ones! Highly recommend to every one.
