I recomended this cafe to my friend so we went. The lady who seemed to be in charge was so abrupt and rude to us.. Horrible woman the rest of the staff are fine, but because of her we wont be going again. Everything we asked for she said we havent got it in a in a very snappy rude answer. So we went else where. I know a lot of my friends have had the same experience. Sorry but cant see the cafe lasting long.

I have been here several times and quite a few times they have been missing simple items like certain types of bread for the sandwiches/toasties or even all of their soups being unavailable. Sometimes service is average sometimes the workers seem incredibly rude and bored. Despite having a food hygiene rating of 5, a lot has clearly changed since then as they don't seem hygienic at all. A cheese toastie we ordered had barbeque sauce on the edge of it, which most have been from a BBQ chicken toastie or panini that someone else had previously, indicating that they do not wipe down what they use to cook their toasties or change whatever paper they put them on between orders. Also for anyone who is vegetarian, the cheese toastie is listed as vegetarian on the menu but clearly is not if there is this level of cross contamination. All of the dishes we received had chips on them, which anyone with common sense knows is incredibly unsanitary and makes it impossible to clean them properly meaning the cracks and chips harbour lots of bacteria and are unsanitary to eat off. In addition to this some of the chipped sections were quite sharp and could easily cause injury if you grabbed that part of the plate without noticing.

We was passing and my mum wasn't feeling well. So I said let's grab a coffee and you can sit down for a rest. We saw the chairs were around so my mum asked if they were still serving to which the lady replied well we close in 30 minutes. My mum explained we just wanted a quick coffee and she told her to sit on the left side then. Then as my mum walked to sit ( I don't know if she didn't know that we was together) the lady started pulling faces to the other male worker and shaking her head huffing and puffing while proceeding to pull faces! To which I told my mother that I would rather get a take out coffee from anywhere else and sit on a bench. Rude and totally unprofessional. If she didn't want to serve us then why not just say, yes we're closed or closing. Absolutely no need for that behaviour. She was lucky I was with my mother and she wasn't feeling great!!

Had excellent scrambled egg on toast with beans. Hoping to go back soon for more. Also had nice cake. Excellent overall. Service was quick and they asked if we enjoyed it, which is always nice when they care what customers think.

Possibly the most overpriced lunch i have ever paid for. though I may not be the target audience for the cafe, I decided to give it a try, and best believe, I won't be giving it another go. The seating area allows barely any move to do anything, and all seats are crammed in, meaning it is very anti-wheelchair, as I discovered when I had to move the table to let somebody by. This however, is the least of my complaints, as I paid £5 for a pizza, which I thought at the time was a good deal. I wasn't expecting a michelin star meal, however I certainly wasn't expecting a Tesco 50p Palm-sized pizza. I understand they need to make money but the size of that pizza was unacceptable compared to the price that was paid for it. Wouldn't recommend this place to anybody looking to get their moneys worth. God awful establishment, 1 star!!

Absolutely amazing people, we went for a coffee and cake and we came out smiling ear to ear, our 2nd year wedding anniversary and they couldn't of made us feel more special. This is what places like this our all about, what a great place, when I'm next in Hull I'll be there xx

Got a breakfast, worst breakfast I've ever had in Hull. The Bacon looked boiled, the fat was white, tomatoes so watery the water went in the beans, left most if it......best bit was the toast.. Oh and you can only have scrambled egg. Won't be returning.
