Amazing ! Our 13 year old mostly-labrador has severe osteoarthritis and was struggling to do anything. We took him for acupuncture and herbal medicine which is tailored to the needs of your dog or cat. After one session Jazz was finding it much easier to get up and move about, and even started playing tug-of-war with our other dog ( they ended up with half a toy each ! ) Many thanks to Rinnert and the helpful and friendly team. Very highly recommended.

I have been bringing my Dalmatian, Gracie, here for around two years now. She is now 16 years old and struggled initially with arthritis and joint pain, along with some other varying symptoms as she continues to age. With the support of Rinnert and his team, she has had laser therapy, acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbal remedies to support her over this time. As her symptoms change, her therapies have been adjusted to best support her at each specific time and it has greatly improved her pain levels in particular. The team at Holistic Vet Care have always been personable, professional and supportive. Their approach and support alongside traditional, western, pharmaceuticals is appreciated, as the balance can feel difficult at times and is also a very personal choice. I feel very supported by the team and particularly Rinnert as Gracie’s final days seem to be drawing closer - she has the best care and support any dog could receive. Thank you Holistic Vet Care!

Updated at bottom - I always find it concerning when a vet can't keep their paperwork upto date. Im currently looking for someone to help with targeted nutrition which is what brought me to this google result and indeed the facility from the pictures look really positive and clean. This sadly is where it ends and why i wont be choosing this place. I like to research places i go to make sure they're qualified and well reviewed and since im autistic and mysely am registered with the ABTC i am most certainly not new to the pet industry. Now whilst this place seems to carry extremely positive reviews, i cant say the same about qualifications. Being registered with the RCVS doesn't make one a vet. And whilst im sure that Dr Rinnert is very good at what he does, i hope. You're own site has CVA under your own title... which at first i thought was CertVA for Anesthesia, but after doing more research, CVA is apparently a Certified Veterinary Assistant. So are you a vet or an assistant? It also isnt a qualification recognised by the RCVS. However since you are a member im going to assume that its some kind of typo and you are indeed a vet, but that does bring me to my next point, on your site you have "CVA" and "CVCHM" niether of these are on your RCVS profile? Nor is your profile connected to your practice so as far as i can tell, on the surface it appears your practice has no qualified staff AND you're lying about your own qualifications which having done my research i dont believe either to be true, but due to your basic disregard of being able to follow basic registration requirements i will be going elsewhere who have their paperwork upto date. Good luck **Update** I really appreciate your reaponse and your clarifications on the abbreviations you used, (for thise reading CVA - Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist, and CVCHM - Certified Veterinary in Chinese Holistic Medicine) and im pleased i did assume correctly that you are indeed a fully qualified Vet as the RCVS inducated. its a shame because searching these abbreviations font actually show the results and obviously contacting the RCVS niether of these are recognised certifications which is why i assume they aren't on your profile. Also the question of why your vet profile isnt connected to your RCVS practice page still remains. This only raises more questions such as why you dont want you name connected to your practice via the RCVS? And once again do you have no RCVS staff to speak of? Whikst i appreciate the your notion of judging you by coming to your practice and speaking to you the old saying "you eat with your eyes" comes to mind, i wasnt horrible, i raised valid and fair points and its not like i gave you a 1* review, and as your response was fair and professional and you indeed answered the question about the abbreviations i have increased my rating from 2 to 3*. I would be more than happy to increase my review again once your RCVS practice profile is actually connected and updated as thats what it is there for, so potential customers can make an informed choice and granted, many people can just go elsewhere and they may even call a business and highlight the issues i have here seldom is anything done about it. Because provate calls and messages can and are dismissed and ignored. As i said previously, ive been in the industry myself for over 20 years. I have a reputation for fixing the problems others have caused and whilst im not a vet, i am not asking for anything special, just a minimum standard. Whilst i appreciate your invitation Ive already found another Holistic Vet whose RVCS is upto date and website is much more informative. I wish you and your business the best

Over the last six months, Rinnert and the team at Holistic Vet Care have been a huge support. They’ve been treating my senior dog for arthritis with acupuncture, and the results have been impressive and have exceeded my expectations - in terms of the return of mobility and energy and more. Not only has my dog improved significantly, but each visit has been met with curiosity, care and professionalism. They are clearly dedicated to the well-being of their patients. I’m truly grateful for their help and would recommend them to fellow pet owners.

I can’t recommend Dr. Rinnert at Holistic Vet Care highly enough – he has literally given my dog Xena her life back, and I’m still in awe of the results. Xena’s severe, non-stop itching started in January 2025. From that very first month until July 2025, she was on steroids (on and off, higher doses, lower doses, different kinds) just to keep her from tearing herself apart. In July we finally saw the dermatologist, who took her off steroids and started her on Apoquel. It stopped the itching, but I was never able to reduce her to the proper maintenance dose without the itch coming roaring back. Twice-weekly medicated baths, prescription hypoallergenic food, and the cone 24/7 became our exhausting routine. After almost a full year we were no closer to an answer or a real fix – only lifelong drugs and management. In October 2025, completely out of hope and options, I found Dr. Rinnert at Holistic Vet Care and booked an appointment. From the first visit the difference was night and day. Dr. Rinnert truly listened to every detail of the past year, asked insightful questions, and spent as much time as we needed. You can feel how much he loves animals – Xena, who is usually nervous at vets, relaxed with him right away. Two months later, in December 2025, Xena is OFF Apoquel completely – no rebound itching, no cone, no scratching, nothing. Her skin and coat look amazing, and her overall health has improved she is like a puppy again (she’s almost 8) most importantly, she’s happy and comfortable again. If you’ve been stuck in the steroid → dermatologist → Apoquel cycle with no real resolution, do yourself and your dog a favor and see Dr. Rinnert. He finds and treats the root cause instead of just suppressing symptoms, he’s incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely brilliant with animals. Xena and I are forever grateful. Holistic Vet Care is worth every single mile and every penny – five stars feels nowhere near enough! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I came to the clinic with my 4 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Holly after I had almost run out of options with her specialist vet treating her for breathing difficulties from a collapsed trachea. Even with the highest dose of steroids she could take, her breathing was still noisy and at times phlegmy. Dr van den Bergh assured me he could help and I was impressed at how much her general health improved in just a few weeks. Most importantly her breathing became normal and we are now beginning to slowly reduced her steroids. I am amazed - and for the first time since her trachea collapsed two years ago, I am hopeful there will be a positive outcome for Holly.

We contacted Rinnert at Holistic Vet Care Northampton as our 12 year old pet dachshund Odie had a rather worrying urine infection which our regular vet informed us was untreatable. How glad we did!! After a couple of appointments Odie is now a different dog. He no longer has the water infection, his skin is much improved and he appears to be more happy and alert. I would thoroughly recommend Rinnert as a very caring knowledgeable holistic vet.

I was faced with my Border Collie Millie being on long term pain medication for arthritis, unfortunately after one dose she had a very poor reaction. This led me to look for an alternative. Then I stumbled upon Rinnert and figured it couldn't hurt to try the acupuncture and herbs. I'm so grateful I did find him because Millie is going from strength to strength. She's showing no obvious signs of pain. Her overall health and demeanour is much improved. I'm less worried about her. Rinnert was quick to respond to my initial email and tell me what help and support he could offer. We never feel rushed with appointments and he has a very calming presence which both myself and Millie pick up on. She barely reacts to the needles and is settling more and more during treatments. I would highly recommend his practice. I'm very glad I found him.

My 14 year old Chinchilla cat had a large chest and side tumour and I feared I would soon have to make a heartbreaking decision. I heard Dr Rinnert Van Den Burgh interviewed on BBC Radio Leicester and took Miss Daisy to see him. That was in Nov last year and thanks to his expertise in holistic vet care, she is enjoying life today. The herbs she was given will not cure her but take the heat and moisture out of the tumour which has slowed the growth Rinnert creates a very calm environment and takes time to understand the pet and symptoms. Miss Daisy was also given acupuncture. Definitely recommend this holistic approach to pet care and Rinnert is extremely knowledgeable and a true professional in this field of pet care.

I’m so happy with the attention and care shown to my beloved spaniel, who injured her back in November 2020. With accupuncture, herbs and recommendations to change to a raw diet Maggie is making a good recovery. The time taken to understand her needs and patience in ensuring she is calm has helped to build a good relationship which makes having her treatment easier. I can’t thank you enough for giving our family our dog back.
