Friendly staff and good service. Pool table and cues need renew. Good selection of sports TV. The odd rough customer but ok. Bit expensive drinks
Staff member tells you not to bother paying for parking and that you get 24 hours for free, then you end up getting a £100 parking fine. Probably a business in itself, making people fall for ‘24 hours free parking’, and sharing the profits with the pub. Dodgy pub
I actually remember the original Zoological on the corner of Beverley road, which went in the early 80s. This is a nice place, lovely outside seating area in the summer and although I have not tried the food, they are always displaying ambitious menus.
Unfortunately we decided to meet for drinks here prior to meal in another restaurant across the road as we have in the past . Disappointed as had to wait as bar didn't have enough wine glasses for a bottle of wine to share. Out of three two dirty , one a huge lipstick mark . The barman said he would go fund more and went off to where tables set for meals. Another friend joined us so I went and asked for another wine glass , the young barman seemed worried about going to get another off set tables , still none behind bar . A young woman directed him to go to certain table to get us another wine glass. I've never been in a pub or bar where there aren't more than 3 CLEAN wine glasses available. Not sure as a group of friends we'll be going back. We choose this pub to meet as used through the years as a good meeting point so unfortunately we're confident it would be a great starting point for our evening and ending point, how wrong we were. It used to be soo good.
A pleasant Pub that I haven't been in for years. I went as it is a Colleague's local and it was to send them off to a new position in work. The girl serving was very friendly and the Carling Lager was fine. They seem to have a good range of beers etc to choose from. The only disappointing thing was the lack of customers. There were a number of locals, but the place was not packed. This is possibly due to the times we are in now plus where the Pub is located. I had a very good evening all round.
