This review breaks my heart, I used to come in here with my best friend 1984 to 1991. Today, very rude bar staff who told me her name was Marie on 30/11/2024, I came in and she shouted "not today," why? I had just left Hull Royal after a shift and bumped into my son, took him for a pint as never seen him in that area, wanted to tell him stories of the place and of my friend. The moment shattered and I did nothing wrong, rude rude rude. Very let down, I still love this place but I do not know what her problem was. I will do my best to make sure everyone I know, knows of my experience. I have to be honest and this review makes me sad.
Great match day boozer full of City memorabilia. Highly recommend a pre or post pint in here if you're a Tigers fan. It can have a great atmosphere and you might get treat to a visit from the Chairman himself.
The Botanic Hotel on Spring Bank is a community pub with a good range of beers and lagers, sadly no cask conditioned real ale. There is a pool table and dart board. The staff are welcoming and the regulars are very friendly. There is a fantastic collection of Hull City shirts on display and black and amber seating, there is also a lot of Hull FC shirts, this is a great pub especially for sports fans. Well worth calling in.
If you're looking for a modern, clinical, corporate looking pub then there are plenty available in the area. However if you're looking for a traditional pub, with a friendly landlord & staff, good beer and lots of sports memorabilia on the walls then you've struck gold! A must visit place for an Hull City fan on a match day with a lively atmosphere enjoyed by fans of all ages

An excellent venue for a variety of drinks on match day
I used to come in here in 1984 and loved it, precious memories. Went in again a few weeks ago and despite looking different, its still a fantastic put and some decent beer. I sang Karaoke so likely they wont forget me in a hurry lol. The best pub on Spring bank in 84 is still the best there in 2022
