   This is a wonderful place for furniture fabric, curtain fabric and lounge furniture. They are extremely helpful and friendly, as well as being knowledgeable. They have some lovely and unusual fabrics and their sofas and chairs are well made. They also offer an upholstering service too and if you wanted to keep an old piece of furniture you can buy their fabric by the meter to get it reupholstered to match your new purchase. When I went they also had some unusual pieces where the middle seat in some of their three seated sofas flips down into a table as well as some other more unique looking furniture compared to what I've seen in bigger brand places.

Once we choose our style they helped us to find a beautiful fabric to match our interior. Prompt manufacture and careful delivery. The sofa is a classic design, well built and beautifully finished.    This has to be the best furniture shop in Portsmouth. It's situated in the Farlington industrial estate on Fitzherbert Road. The choice of quality sofas, chairs and curtains are second to none. The staff were both courteous and friendly. So if you are looking for sofas chairs or curtains, then I can highly recommend this furniture shop.

   I can thoroughly recommend Material Things. We wanted a large L-shaped sofa of a specific size to fit our living room and were pleased to discover that Material Things was a relatively local company offering a bespoke service. The fact that they manufacture onsite was also a bonus in my eyes. Their sales consultant Stuart Munro provided a very welcome mixture of warmth, wit and professional competence. He helped us to create what was a mixture of two of their standard designs. The only issue that arose was the lack of the promised inspection of a single section of this 3-section sofa to ensure that all was well before the rest of the sofa was constructed. This was due to a misunderstandiong in the workshop related to Stuart being off with a Covid infection. Unfortunately, the seat depth was too great for my thighs and the sofa had to be partially rebuilt. Throughout the process, Stuart made it clear that they would do whatever it took to make us happy customers. He achieved that objective!

   Fabulous. My 25 year old beloved Multiyork sofas were too good to dispose of so I decided to have them reupholstered. Material Things were brilliant. They offer good value for money and an exceptional customer service. My sofas look like new. I ordered some arm covers for added protection but they weren't included in the delivery. This was not a problem for the crew, within an hour I received a phone call and somebody took the effort of delivering them to me personally. Thank you.

   Amazing company we found from advert in local free magazine. Brilliant customer service, helpful advice, delivery when said and very impressed with quality of work and installation. We had 4 dining chairs re-upholstered good advice on fabric & really good finished products We had 3 sets of curtains complete with new track and poles high quality making and fitting. We even had 5 cushions made to match the curtains and were again impressed with their quality. Andrew was so helpful on his visit to complete the order and Simon did a very professional job with all of the fitting. Can't fault Material Things at all from our experiences, certainly fully recommend
