Sunday roast beef lunch most disappointing. Although batch cooked the meal was warm but not hot. The yorkshire pudding bland and dry and the beef was not rib but topside which is dry on any level. I had booked the restaurant for 4 other separate occasions and will now cancel all my bookings. I would not recommend you spend your well earned money on this restaurant.

I called to book a table for 9 family members including my 87 year old mum for my birthday on a monday afternoon. A table was available but they wanted £25 a head booking fee as it was over 8 people, the lady i spoke to was rude and dismissive saying rules are rules with no leeway..i am coming down from London for the weekend and would gladly pay a sensible depisit.Fair to say i have been welcomed elsewhere in Chichester with open arms.i will not be attending purchases again nor in the future.

Organised cocktails for a group - the service was terribly slow and took half an hour to get our first drink (only managed to order because I went and found a waitress). The bride's drink arrived as we were leaving, a pregnant guest was given the wrong cocktail, which contained alcohol, and they refused to allow us to all order our own drinks at the bar individually, making it a pain to sort payment. Such a shame as I've had some lovely evening here, but it seems the small touches and excellent service has diminished...no nibbles, no menus on tables etc.

Luke the restaurant manager went above and beyond for my mother in laws birthday, cocktails and food were delicious (beef wellington, pork and the sea bass were the highlights). Lovely settings and atmosphere to accompany it. The staff are a real credit to purchases

Came here for my birthday meal with my partner and we still go on about it after. The service was amazing and the food was sublime. They just made everything a real treat. The only downside is parking and how far you had to walk to get there but I understand this isn’t fair to be taken against them and we would happily do it all over again!

Very nice ambience great food however was disappointed with the fact that we were celebrating a birthday and had been promised with a plate of small cakes/ chocolates at end of evening and got nothing !! Also queried why we had been charged for extra bread when one of the group had soup and didn’t get the bread !! Shame really as it was not a cheap evening out not sure I will book again ☹️

We live local to Chichester and Purchasers is one of our favourite Restaurants and we had a annual gathering with friends and wanted to share the wonderful experience of Purchasers with them. From the booking, which was not an easy feat accommodating 15 of us, but Annie did it, thank you. No disappointments there, food, wine and service from the amazing team and Charlotte who went above and beyond. We will definitely all be back.

We booked two superior rooms for a Saturday night at £184 each. The rooms were nice but not enough to justify the price. Stair carpet as you come in is dirty and stained and gives a very poor impression. Shower pressure in both rooms was the lowest I've encountered in the UK and there was no hot water. Breakfast menu had very little on it - full English, avocado on toast or one of three options which all included hollandaise sauce and were garnished with pea shoots. No continental or other options you might find in even a b&b. When we complained about the shower we were told a plumber had come and "I saw him leave so I assumed it was fixed"! No offer of compensation or discount of the rate: the manager had the nerve to say "it happens to everybody; this time it was our turn". This place obviously does well because of location and has pretences to grandeur but was incredibly disappointing against similar stays, and the attitude to basic things like a clean carpet, decent breakfast choices and hot water. Add to this the arrogance of the management and you'd be far better to stay somewhere cheaper and better and spend the money saved at the cocktail bar in the Ivy instead
