   I had to give one star before I could post this. I felt the woman who served me was talking down to me from the moment I walked through the door. Not a pleasant experience. My husband, who was with me during the visit, noticed it as well.

   Visited for an eye test in September. It seemed very rushed. I ordered varifocals which I went to collect a week later and straight away there was a problem in that I couldn't see with them. After a bit of fiddling about it was arranged to have another eye test with a different optician in-store and another varifocals order. After a week glasses were collected and yet again there was a problem. The fit was good but vision was worse. The optician suggested I tried a few days to see if my eyes would adjust....but nope so back to Specsavers for a refund. No explanation to explain why they couldn't get it right or an apology for wasting my time. Since then I have gone to an independent optician who completed an eye test resulting in a completely different prescription. If you want something quick and cheap go to Specsavers. If you want customer service and attention to detail go any where else than Specsavers Downpatrick.

   We have been customers of Specsavers for many years, and in particular the Downpatrick store. There is one member of staff who we love to see and that's Annmarie, I have never seen her without a smile on her face. She remembers us every time and we are a family of 6 who all wear glasses, she tried to teach my sons how to use contact lenses, success with one but not the other, it wasn't for want of trying on her behalf but we had to admit defeat, he just couldn't do it. We were in again today with my 13 year old daughter and I don't think I am joking when I say she tried on 500 pairs of glasses, and despite me getting totally fed up with the whole process, Annmarie prevailed and continued to smile through it until we finally achieved the impossible and my daughter settled on a pair. I do hope feedback is given to the staff members, as I think it is incredibly important to give credit where credit is due. I am a nurse and unfortunately am only too aware of how quick people are to complain but sometimes quite reluctant to thank someone or congratulate them on a job well done! So big Thank You to Annmarie and to all the staff in Downpatrick, here's hoping when we are back next week to collect her glasses my daughter has not changed her mind and decided on another pair!!!

   I have found the experience in Specsavers to be excellent every time I have needed them. The staff have wonderful customer care, smiling, helpful and reassuring around choosing frames and fitting. Assessment was very thorough. Discussion and review have been helpful and each staff member has been extremely attentive. Pleasure to be there.
