Just had the most gorgeous Christmas lunch at the Anglesey Hotel. Congratulations to the chef , the meal was absolutely delicious and they dont stint on the amount either! The staff are happy, friendly and so helpful.

Had a wonderful family Sunday lunch on my daughters’s birthday. Probably the best pork belly I’ve ever had. The bar staff and ladies serving were, as always, brilliant. A great place to eat and drink.

Wonderful Sunday lunch here today. The food is always very good but the Sunday roasts are superb. Veggies are not treated like second class diners here; the nut roast is delicious. Sticky toffee pudding to die for. Staff are lovely and always so helpful with just the right amount of attentiveness. We ate in the beautiful formal dining room today but the bar has a really nice friendly more casual feel to it and would recommend there also. We’ll be back very soon. Thank you.

We stayed here last night. The room was really nice. Clean and a comfy bed. Shower pressure was a bit rubbish. Walls could do with painting (lots of marks, but not a deal breaker) . Nice kitchenette with fridge, iron, hair hairdryer . Blind was broken, TV remote missing. Tea coffee and biscuits supplied, crockery etc was all good. All in all very nice. Nice and quiet.

The Anglesey Hotel, is what we call a perfect trap. In other words, great on paper and pictures, pretty bad in reality. We booked this place for the end of our two weeks trip through England during which we stayed in different Hotels, Inns or B&Bs every night. We naively believed that this was the perfect place to end our trip, oh boy were we surprised when we arrived. From unfriendly staff to check us in to unfriendly staff to check us out, without even asking us how our stay was. We conceded that they did not ask because they would know the answer, for it was as bad as it can be. The room was so small that there were not even nightstands for they would not fit next to the bed, that’s how small it was for two people, they took the word β€˜standard’ to a next level I would say. Maybe there was a time this place looked nice but form the outside as much from the inside it was run down. The bathroom had only one tiny light working which was in itself holding on to dear life, causing it to be so dark that we couldn’t even put our contact lenses in the bathroom but rather had to go into the room itself. Not to mention the unbearable heat, and no fan in the room to help us through that uncomfortable night. We did ask for one and were told that β€œthey have none left but they will try and see what they can do”. This obviously ended in them just waiting till they can go home and avoid us all together. I believe that they even tried hard to make the stay as uncomfortable as possible, and they did succeed. For the future even if somebody paid us to stay there we wouldn’t do it, needless to say how we regret every penny we have spent on this place, to leave it angry, tired and frustrated. To be avoided at all costs, the pictures are not reflecting the dump that this place is.

A lovely hotel that I've been visiting for a few months. Staff are very helpful and rooms are very well maintained some with a lot of character. The food is of a high standard, not often experienced in restaurant/hotels. A very well thought out menu that makes staying there an absolute pleasure.

We had our annual family Christmas party last night at the Anglesey and had a wonderful time. The three course meal was delicious and the service impeccable. With the table decorations and party hats the atmosphere was very festive. Thank you very much.

Room was very noisy. We had the room over entrance. People have cigarettes there. Was still outside at 2.30 am. Talking real loud and singing at the top of their voices. Building was beautiful on the outside. I would never stay there again. Too expensive for somewhere to stay and not sleep

Room noisy as people were smoking outside underneath our room will little thought to the noise they were making. Check in staff very pleasant. Evening meal in bar area (very nice). Breakfast in breakfast room also nice. Parking poor. Luck of the draw to get a space nearby.

Good clean hotel. Great bar and excellent hard working staff. Good breakfast, cereal to a full English. Had a top floor room with sea view and a comfortable bed. Kettle with tea, coffee and biscuits. Short walk to the beach front. Would recommend and stay again.
