Fantastic location to the Southsea Pier and local pubs. This privately run hotel offers a more personal service than bigger hotels and prides itself on making your stay a happy one.

Wonderful people who run this hotel. Clean, charming rooms, and a fairly priced, delicious breakfast. We were even given a traditional home made Indian breakfast one morning, which was delicious.

We stayed for a couple of nights to visit our god-daughter in Southsea. We can not recommend this place highly enough. Just a short walk to the seafront. Rahul and his mother made us feel so welcome and couldn't do enough for us. The room was perfect and the full English breakfasts were excellent, especially the homemade yoghurt with a lemon essence. They even let our god-daughter join us for breakfast for a very reasonable additional fee. Thanks! On arrival we were given a parking permit for the road just outside and were allowed to hang onto it after checking out on our departure day to enable us to carry on site-seeing for the morning before handing it back: very useful. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area and will be recommending to any friends who might be down that way.

Absolutely delightful welcome by the owner who immediately gave us a parking permit for right outside the house. He explained the access code and asked about breakfast. He was so welcoming The breakfast made by Parvin the owners mum was honestly the best I have tasted. The breakfast room was beautiful. We had homemade joghurt with a lemon essence and a cooked breakfast to die for. Fresh toast and lots of coffee. Wonderful Rahul keep doing what your doing Cannot recommend enough.

One would think that if your personal accommodation had flooded that morning, your business would take second place, and you would even consider closing up - especially when you are a fledgling business (Sep 2020) - but the owner didn’t want to let his booked guests down and, admirably, strove on. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, he fully ensured that we were still well catered for and that our every need was met upon arrival. His care didn’t stop there: my wife was unwell on arrival and so, in addition to ensuring her wellbeing, her breakfast the next day was as ‘stomach friendly’ as possible, while I had one of his Mum’s most fantastic sausage butties (sorry, Love – it would have been rude not to!); naturally a Full English and a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, freshly cooked croissant and his Mum’s delicious home-made yoghurt are available. The owner’s personable nature engendered conversation and genuine interest in his guests at breakfast so a fantastically pleasant and easy going atmosphere developed in chatting , should you wish – something we have not done in any other accommodation. As to the accommodation, itself: it is a listed building right on the edge of the green commons and pier of Southsea, and only a 15-20 min walk either into the centre of Portsmouth, old Portsmouth or Gunwharf Quay; it comes with a parking permit for the street and there is also one of the Voi electric scooter points over the road (you need at least 30mins to get to The Yomper statue and back without much time to look around). It has a lovely lounge area always available for reading, with a good selection of tourist info and menus for local eateries (a few in the same street). The rooms are pleasantly furnished with the best stocked beverage trays – we usually have to ask for more milk jiggers, but not here. The en-suite bathrooms are very clean, self contained pods with superb showers and toiletries. Would we return? As it happened, we had to, the immediate following night! Our next accommodation had a COVID contact case which denied us, as we had to test negative to catch a ferry home the following day. But, once again, the Owner was on hand and immediately cleared bookings on his final room so we still had and an accommodation option, which relieved pressure on trying to rearrange, and actually proved vital. Unfortunately, the extra night meant another butty and more great conversation! Would we return (properly)? Undoubtedly – we have never been so well looked after at all parts of the stay! We just need an excuse to return to Portsmouth now that our Son has finished Uni, although The Pier B&B might just be 'that' excuse!

Travelled down from Scotland. Had a great 3 night stay at The Pier and we will be back. Close to all the amenities that Southsea has to offer. Lovely room and the best breakfast cooked by Rahul’s mum over chats about what we were doing that day. I’d give it 6 stars

Me and my Wife were surprised how close we were from the sea side. Also a 10-15 minute walk to Gunwharf Outlet. We stayed in room number 3, with great street views. Very impressed by the cleanliness also the effort and passion put into our Breakfast. Eager to visit again :)

I had a marvellous stay at the Pier B&B. The location is perfect for exploring the sites of Portsmouth. I had a peaceful night's sleep every night. My room was immaculately clean and cosy. So much better than the ubiquitous bland rooms offered by the hotel chains. Breakfast was delicious and filling, great start to the day! The owner, Jessica, was brilliant, very friendly and very helpful. Believe the 5-star reviews it really is that good.
