A few weeks ago I was fitting blinds in my conservatory. After realising some of the brackets wouldn’t fit without being cut down, I called in to Fleetgate Hardware to grab the things I needed. After discussing what I was doing with Steve (hoping I’ve recalled his name correctly), who very kindly put down his lunch to come and help me, he offered to cut the brackets down in the back instead of me buying a hacksaw, file etc to do it myself. He did a good job and it was done in 5 mins but he refused any payment for this and just said he was happy to help a customer.

I once saw the old girl up a ladder battering the sign back on with a hammer during a force 8 so they don't shy away when it comes to trying their own goods out.
Proper old fashioned hardware shop. If they haven't got what you want chances are they'll be able to get it for you. Places like this are disappearing from our towns - this one needs to be used
