A beautiful relaxing forest park with walks of various distances. Follow the signs from the main road for Kilkeel golf club then you will see the signs for the park which takes you to the end of the road to the left. There is plenty of parking but limited toilets/portaloos.

A new walking destination in the Mournes that is well worth the visit. Three accessible walking trails are suitable for all abilities and vary in length (The longest trail took me about 1hr20mins). All the walks begin via a track through a sweeping estate parkland with a dramatic Mourne backdrop. The mellow parkland approach leads to a woodland where the trails branch off into a valley and follow the meanders of the White Water River. For relatively short walks there is good variety with many pleasant riverside locations to pause and enjoy. It’s quiet and peaceful with a different feel to other walking locations in area. The great work of the Woodland Trust is evident throughout the park. After the walk, I was curious to learn more on the history of the estate.

A very nice and peaceful walking area through woodland and beside the Whitewater River. There are three walking trails which consist of one "easy" route and two "moderate" difficulty routes. If you have children with you, I recommend that you don't let them run on ahead because there are some steep drops directly into the river. Car parking was plentiful and free. The Woodland Trust have also placed signs to help drivers park in the correct car park. We visited on a very windy autumn's day but found that the woodland offered plenty of protection from the wind. Thankfully we saw no dog mess or litter, which is a real pleasure nowadays. We were also fortunate enough to see Robins, Chaffinches and Dipper on our visit although the Red Squirrels remained elusive. Overall, I would recommend visiting here if you are in the area and if you enjoy peace and quiet.

Sometime last year we were lucky enough to stay at a B&B in Wales and in conversation with a lady from the Woodland Trust who mentioned they were trying to buy the land for Mourne Park. Today we visited the fruits of those labours and were grateful that the negotiations were fruitful. Well constructed paths as well as being well signed but just be aware of the possibility of the odd golf ball from the driving range FORE! I must for the itinerary in the coming years

A gorgeous spot for a walk. Great paths and signage, the rivet is beautiful and it is so nice to see areas of conservation that the trust are trying to protect. Go early to avoid crowds.

An exceptional and amazing forest to visit. Native Ancient Irish woodland and with only 2% coverage in Ireland a real gem. Some of the trees are truly majestic. Bought by the Woodland Trust in 2021 it is due to open to the public summer 2022. A truly amazing place.
