Consortium Chartered Physiotherapists in Cottingham have been invaluable in enabling me to take control of and manage my long term back and knee issues. They provided the necessary tools for me to manage pain, improve flexibility with the aim of working towards the eventual elimination of pain. I was provided with a written tailored exercise schedule. Graham demonstrated the appropriate exercises in front of me during the session working with me to ensure that I was undertaking them effectively. He also gave me a gentle massage to my knee which significantly reduced pain aiding recovery. Graham gave a full initial assessment based on a in-depth enquiry and provided follow-up sessions as required. He is kind and sensitive in his approach and motivational in attitude. I fully recommend Consortium Chartered Physiotherapists.

I can absloutely highly recommend Clare Haslam as she is an amazing knowledgeable and professional therapist! I have never been checked out with my health problems as thoroughly as by Clare! I have been suffering from constipation for at least 2 decades, have been to so many GPs during this time and was diagnosed with IBS and often sent home with peppermint pills to relieve bloating of the tummy. After trying out and incredible list of remedies for my digestive issue (which frustratingly never solved the problem) and after excluding more sinister causes by various tests, I have been rather desperate for help and luckily found Clare Haslam! I got an appointment within a week. Clare suggested the root cause could be a prolapse of the bowel, which could cause this obstruction for passing stool properly and regularly. I was moved to tears that finally someone had listened to me and my symptoms very carefully and I finally felt someone had taken my longstanding symptoms and resulting discomfort (boated belly, loss of appetite) seriously, which both had impacted a lot on my life quality and my mood. I have now been referred to a specialist clinic for further investigation. Finally, I feel there is hope again!! Anyone who reads this will understand how debilitating and depressing "the inability to poo properly" can be (something that should be the most normal thing!) , especially when you have tried "everything" and the problem still persists! I found it astonishing that no GP had ever mentioned the possibility of a "bowel prolapse" to me, despite the longstanding symptoms! If this resonates in any way with you, I would recommend to contact Clare today!

My husband was discharged from hospital as bed bound and using a hoist, for all transfers, after appalling care in HRI. We contacted the team and Graham and Debbie performed a home visit. A plan of action was set up and 6 weeks later after twice weekly visits and lots of exercise regimes to complete, my husband is walking with a zimmerframe, managing to walk to toilet and will be using his own bed soon. I was hopeful the physio team would help my hubby but we are both overwhelmed at how far he has come. I would urge anyone to use this service.

I have been seeing Gary for physiotherapy following my hip replacement. He is very approachable and comfortable to be with. He explains all the exercises and the reasons why they need doing. He has certainly helped my recovery tremendously and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I've recently received treatment from Gary at the clinic for a chronic elbow problem. He took the time to understand the injury, and went into great detail explaining what my treatment should look like and how he can enable me to complete the recovery. After the first session we created a plan, that I could implement getting me on the road to tendon recovery. And with diligent work he has cleared me back to rock climb much earlier than was first thought. Gary was open and honest about treatment techniques and mentioned that it would be down to my own work that would lead to positive outcomes. I cannot recommend Gary and the practice enough. It provides an excellent service.

During the treatment for my shoulder, I found Consortium Chartered Physiotherapists, and Molly in particular who was the physiotherapist that treated me, to be extremely kind, professional and knowledgeable. Within four sessions, my issue was diagnosed, and the right treatment and exercises were set in motion. This resulted in an issue I had had for a year being sorted within a couple of months. I highly recommend putting your trust in them!!

Highly Recommended…… After years of on and off chronic pain with my lower back it seemed as if there was no way to escape the pain and restrictions on every day life that this imposes. I have seen physios and osteopaths who only managed to offer slight relief, that goes for injections also when administered and other medications. Then I visited Consortium and Graham who from the outset was so positive and turned the theory of back pain upside down with his approach which I had never come across before, in some ways it was the exact opposite of what you read online published by the many experts in this field. What followed was a tailored program of stretches and recuperative exercises along with the emphasis to relax my back muscles rather than remain rigid trying to protect them at all costs. This is a radical change from anything I have previously undertaken and has been so successful that I am now in full training and managing what discomfort I still have. The clinic is a well run professional practice staffed with highly trained individuals who have really invested in patient care and I cannot fault the service they offer and deliver, well done to all concerned.

When visiting the Consortium Physiotherapist group in Easter 2022, I had only just received a diagnosis for a ligament injury I'd had for six months, so I was very pessimistic about how the injury would be approached. Consortium came highly recommended by my doctor and after a rigorous first session, I felt so much more confident knowing how to move forward and tackle my injury with a detailed and personalised strengthening programme. Shout out to Graham who was incredibly welcoming and patient when listening to any challenges I was experiencing and always fine-tuned my programme so that it was constantly balanced between gently rehabilitating my leg, but also pushing it to discover how far it had improved. I intended to get back into competitive sports 4 months after first visiting Consortium, so having a physio who was rapid in responding to emails and clear in communicating my rehab routines was priceless. If you're feeling lost on how to confidently approach your injury and remain positive in the face of your rehab, look no further than Consortium: their dedication will safely and swiftly get you back on track. Thank you so much Graham; I feel back to my old self and it's all thanks to you!

I would highly recommend Consortium Physiotherapy. I have seen Molly 3 times and she has totally changed my outlook and health recovering from a back injury that happened June 2021. From my first appointment Mollie showed me so much care and understanding, she is so knowledgeable and quickly figured out what the underlying problems I had where and how to help them. Thank you so so much Molly, not only do I feel stronger and healthier my mental health and lifestyle has improved massively too.
