Don't believe the other poor reviews. We had such a lovely time at the swimming, really friendly and kind staff, lovely pool and great splash pad for little ones. It was our first time visiting and already booked in for a circuits class onondag and another play/swimming session for me and my little one. A Great start to our day! Thank you

I go only because its local. The gym contains mostly broken or damaged equipment. Anything that breaks takes months to fix. Anything that is metallic has rust on it, so your hands are filthy when you leave. The pool and steam room are ok, but the changing rooms are dirty quite often. Im also frustrated that you cant use the steam room or sauna at peak times, as they have childrens swimming lessons on. E.g between 8-12 on a saturday is blocked off, and then they shut at 4. Children arent even allowed in the steam room, so why stop everyone else from using it. Not worth trying to use the gym between 5-9 any evening, as there isnt enough equipment for everyone who attends. If there were more than 3 benches, it would add more versatility to the gym space. The staff are lovely though. Thats a big plus.

Expensive, poor quality gym. Scruffy environment. Often grubby. Many machines old and rusty with broken knobs, etc. More expensive and in worse condition than competitors. If you only want to use the pool, there are well-priced membership tiers but no similar option for gym-only use. If you want to use the gym they charge you twice as much, actively ripping you off and discriminating against you. When I raised this, it took months' of chasing to get weak responses, where they said they'd had this complaint a lot, but their hands were tied, it wasn't them but someone else. Something about a joint venture between the council and private company. As a consumer, I don't care about their internal structures, I just want good treatment and decent value. I joined to get some cardio in after an injury stopped me running. The high cost started to bother me after discussing with a friend who only uses the pool. After raising the above issues and failing to get any sign that they were interested in being fair or flexible, cancelled my membership and joined somewhere else.

It’s probably one of the worst fitness centres I have used. The pool is never open and the gym equipment is always out of order. The whole place is filthy. Classes get cancelled all the time. Very disappointed

Ok, a one star review, several years on from my original review. First off, there is absolutely no problem with the staff here, they are generally friendly polite & helpful, however, there is a marked absence with gym staff…. The amount of MALES dropping weights on the floor or letting go of heavy cables and the subsequent crash are among my pet hates, & absolutely nothing is ever done about it. The problem is certainly ‘post pandemic’, & associated with the current cost of living crisis. Machines are either invariably rested’ or out of order. I would also say that IMO, it’s a major Health & Safety breach to keep lights off in the gym on a late February afternoon…. Even the front automatic portal doors have been shut off. These cut-backs need to be reflected in the price of membership. Personally, for the money I’m paying per month, the membership isn’t worth it. One star.

Presentation of the facities has certainly gone downhill in recent months. Broken entrance doors, not safe with young children. Changing rooms are awful with 3 of the cubicles with no doors on. Staff are not approachable with complaints ref swimming classes on a Saturday, despite increasing swimming lesson fees. Needs tidying up to make it a nice place to go.

Staff are lovely. Changing rooms and pool area is dated and could be cleaner
