   Great swim, very friendly staff you need a colourful swim hat and a tow float but you can buy or rent the tow float if you want to. It's a bit slippery getting in the first meter or so but then there's some astro turf or something like it to walk on, shame it doesn't continue right to the edge as that would be a lot safer. There's changing rooms and showers, unfortunately the showers spray water all over the room and not much goes on you, but we told them so hopefully they'll fix it! I'll let you know tomorrow.

   Huge numbers of duck mites in recent years. The slipway has become very slippery with no attention paid to its safety. The weeds in the lake have also grown all the way up to just below the surface so swimming is much more of a battle than it needs to be. The place used to be wonderful but is just going downhill constantly...

   Lovely open water swim. I had the lake to myself. Lifeguard on duty. Air temp 4°C. Water 7.3°C. Lovely clear water. Changing facilities are great. To warm up after the swim, bring your own flask as there is no cafe at the lake.

   Could be a really good open water venue, unfortunately duck mites have been in the water ALL summer, nothing seems to be done to get rid of them. The entry to water is now very slippy and dangerous. With the right management it would be great, sadly the users are being ignored. Cafe is never open, again could be great if open regularly.

   What a lovely place to swim! It’s 200m long and a wonderful way to cool down at the end of a hot summer’s day. You need to wear a bright swim hat and use a tow float. There are changing rooms but we usually get ready at the side of the lake. You can buy 10 swims for £60. Swim hats are sold at the reception and you can hire a tow float for £1. 4 lengths of this lake are the equivalent of 32 lengths in a normal 25m indoor leisure centre pool.
