I used to love it here (when it was Shrewsbury Club) - they had one of the best Yoga classes I’ve attended on Sunday mornings - unfortunately now they’ve given little consideration to existing highly booked classes and have shoved tenured and valued instructors out of their class spots to prioritise the availability of their new class instructors… no vote has been given to members to retain original class times&it appears they are not taking into account any feedback given. The new classes taking this spot are no where near as booked up unsurprisingly and could simply be moved before and after the busier existing ones. Unfortunately they do not seem to be interested in listening to and actioning members feedback - especially when there is a perfectly feasible solution to do so.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at David Lloyd. When I joined, I was never shown the contract I supposedly signed, nor was I told that I would be locked into paying for an entire year even if I wanted to cancel. It feels like they deliberately hide this information there’s absolutely no flexibility and no fair way to cancel your membership. The reception staff are unhelpful and seem unable to resolve even basic issues. Every time I’ve asked to speak to someone from management, I’ve been told no one is available. The overall communication from the club is very poor it’s almost impossible to get a clear answer about anything. On top of that, the parking situation is terrible, always overcrowded and even dangerous at times. If you want to book a class, you have to do it at least a week in advance just to get a spot. Overall, the experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I would strongly advise anyone thinking about joining to read the fine print very carefully and be prepared for poor communication and limited support once you’ve signed up.

Just attended the club after moving all studios and equipment into the tennis courts fot the big refurbishment and wanted to say what a sterling job. It look great and is functional. Well done to all the staff. Its going to be amazing.

David Lloyd Shrewsbury (formerly The Shrewsbury Club) I used to love this place when it was The Shrewsbury Club—it had such a welcoming vibe and great facilities. However, since it transitioned to David Lloyd, there have been some disappointing changes, particularly regarding the tennis policies. The fact that you can’t bring a tennis ball machine anymore is frustrating, especially since I recently used one at another David Lloyd club. There seems to be inconsistency in their rules, and I hope they address this with head office soon. That said, credit where it’s due—the spa facilities are fantastic. It’s a great place to relax, though the sauna could definitely be bigger. I really hope they invest further into making this club a true spa retreat, perhaps with outdoor spa features, which would take it to the next level. The café is another highlight. The coffee is high-quality, and the food options are varied and enjoyable. Overall, there’s still a lot to like about the club, but some improvements and clearer communication around rules would make it even better.

The best gym in town. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. The facilities are spotless and the gym equipment is super hi tech. Great place to chill with a brew after a work out and swim.

I have been at the club for a year and a half now. Great gym, always clean and I've never experienced it being overcrowded. Love the family swim sessions and its great that you pay a one off fee for children until they are 16. Changing rooms are always clean, but can be very busy could do with being bigger for the amount of guests that swim. Nice facilities and the staff are friendly - especially in the hub and housekeeping, they need a pay rise. I often work from the library and it's a great space to do this as it's quiet and the WiFi is good. Soft play to entertain the kids. Deducting one star as the showers have a sewage smell, even though they are clean this is a drain issue. Also, pool temp is hit and miss sometimes it's can be cold even though it's meant to be heated.

Spa day here. Ok experience but just a leisure centre with a bolted on spa facility. Steam room, jacuzzi, pool, mud bath. Service was friendly and fast. Free drinks.

Jacuzzi was not very warm. Sauna and steam room nice. The massage was not the best I've had. Mud chamber was okay but not enough mud to cover body. The food in the cafe was good.

Excellent Summer Camp for Kids Our son has spent two weeks in the Summer Camp for Kids in the School Holidays. The organisation has been absolutely spot on, as has been the attentiveness of all of the staff that we have come into contact with. The restaurant seems to be very popular and we’ve previously used the gym and spa treatments, all of which have been very enjoyable indeed. Very much looking forward to coming back again soon.
