I liked the flowers, they were very pretty. The colors were nice and soft, and they looked so fresh like they just came from the garden. When I saw them first time, I felt a little happy inside, like spring coming again. The smell also was nice, not too strong but still you can feel it in the air. It made the room look more alive, more beautiful. But also, I didn’t like the flowers... I don’t know why. Maybe because flowers die too fast, and then they look sad. Sometimes they make me sneeze. I think I like how they look but not how they are. They take too much space on the table. And when they fall down, the petals everywhereβ€”it’s messy. So yes, I liked them but also... I didn’t like them so much.

The Dingle is a stunning sunken garden right in the middle of The Quarry park β€” peaceful, colourful, and beautifully maintained. Designed by Percy Thrower, it’s full of vibrant flowerbeds, fountains, and shady spots to sit and unwind. Great place just steps from the town centre. Perfect for a quiet walk, photos, or simply escaping into nature for a while.

The Dingle is an absolute gem in the heart of Shrewsbury’s Quarry Park. Once a quarry, it has been transformed into a beautiful sunken garden with colourful flower beds, water features, and a peaceful fountain. It feels like stepping into a hidden oasisβ€”calm, serene, and full of charm. The planting is stunning in every season, and the history behind it makes it even more special. A perfect spot for a quiet walk, photography, or simply to sit and enjoy nature. Definitely one of Shrewsbury’s highlights!

Stunning ! We visited on a beautiful sunny day 6.8. My wife and I had a stroll around, we had our 2 dogs on leads ( no restrictions). The gardens drop down a little so you feel as if you’re in an oasis. It is kept immaculate, praise needs to go to the gardeners. There’s a bust of the famous Percy Thrower who used to be head gardener. There’s a plenty of benches to sit down. It’s not a huge place that you’d get tired walking around, it’s just the the size. A lovely lake, an ornamental pond area at one end. Oh how I envy the locals having this place to relax in. It’s by far the very best garden we’ve ever seen and we’ve seen quite a few. Well done The Dingle and everyone who works so hard to get it to this superb standard.

Beautiful garden area set in the middle of a park. There is a play park and toilets near by. We really enjoyed spending time here and walking around the garden area.

Always go with my son after a Parkrun, feed the ducks and chill for a while. It's a beautiful place to lose yourself and forget the world for a while whatever time of day. Easy to access and completely free. It's situated in a place called the Quarry. Easy to reach the river walks and a short walk into town.

Wonderful gardens in a beautiful city - well kept and clearly a source of pride for many. When visiting Shrewsbury, I would highly recommend a visit to these gardens. It is peaceful and sitting by the pond with a cup of tea/coffee or ice cream is a lovely experience.

Stunning formal gardens located a few minutes walk from the town centre. Plenty of shaded areas to sit and the gardens have been beautifully designed and maintained. Only tiny criticism is they close this area at 715pm in the summer months, would be nice if it was open a little longer to enjoy during the evening

This is a real hidden gem. Beautiful fond gardens set in a small quarry. It’s in the middle of a park, behind a wall. There are more bedding plants that I’ve ever seen in one place at once and the smell is gorgeous. There is a small lake with lots of beautifully placed tree specimens. Doesn’t take long to walk around but it is a very popular place to sit and there are loads of benches.
