“It was my husband who discovered this place for our dinner with friends. Great vibes and love the fact it is a community pub. My starter of the Korean cauliflower was absolutely amazing and I could have very happily eaten a larger portion as a main. For my main however, I went for the pesto bread and butter pudding and again this was delicious. My husband and friends enjoyed their meals. I was too full for pudding but as I wasn't driving, I enjoyed the special cocktail, whiskey sour, before we headed home. Good vegetarian options.”

“It took us just nearly 4hrs to walk all around, including some sit down breaks and time to enjoy the views. We were blessed with a wonderful weather to enjoy the beautiful views. We had great time. Make sure you have wear comply footwear or even hiking boots as some of it was quite hard going and our feet and legs were hurting by the end. I would recommend and will most likely return it the future.”

“Good walks with some stunning views from the highest points. Some tunnels where a torch is needed and some rough pathways so good footwear is needed. Well worth the visit.”

“We went to see the Christmas decorations within the main house. There's no extra charge for National Trust Members but you still have to book a time slot. Absolutely fabulous displays with really interesting info boards to explain the function of each room at Christmas, and some very clever themes applied to the decorations. Fun activities for kids, some very enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers to support the visit. Well worth a look if this is your kind of thing”

“Great place to take the kids with parts for all ages. With the quarry right next to it for picnics and ball games it's a really good location. Would be better with cleaner toilets but the same could be said about anywhere. At least this park has toilets. Good amount of seating dotted around makes it easy to sit and watch the kids playing. Overall great place to go.”

“I had my wedding here on the 8th August 2025. Abby and Howard did such a fantastic job. Our ceremony was in the cave at the follies, our reception was at the hotel. Our day was absolutely perfect and all our guests complimented all the work Abby and Howard did. The day ran smoothly and there was no stress or issues. The hotel was spotless and extremely clean. They moved our belongings to the bridal suite, and left us a lovely surprise when we retired to our room at night. The food was absolutely delicious. Food was delivered warm and in a timely manner. Abby even assisted me with setting everything up ready the day before my wedding. I cannot compliment Abby and Howard enough. Abby especially has been wonderful over the last 18 months of wedding planning. She has always been polite, responsive and so incredibly kind and welcoming to my family, guests and ourselves. Our wedding was a very long day and Abby and Howard were absolutely exceptional. We truly cannot thank you enough for giving us the wedding of our dreams. I would strongly recommend couples to get married at the follies, it an intimate wedding is preferred. It was beautiful and the views were just breathtaking. We had additional guests for our wedding breakfast, with further guests for our evening reception. All at the Hawkstone Park Hotel. Abby was very accommodating to our needs. “The staff at Shrewsbury are a real credit to an excellent fun place. They are so helpful and look as if they genuinely enjoy being with the children. There are plenty of staff spaced around, in case your child needs help or you need any advice. Definitely 5 stars to this place. The toilets are okay which is to be expected with children but the overall cleanliness is great.”

“We arrived just after lunchtime not knowing the Indian menu didn’t commence until 4pm (our fault for not checking). We came back just before 4pm and were seated immediately. The service from the knowledgeable waiters and staff was fantastic and the food was outstanding. Portion size was massive.”

“Obviously not a 5* hotel but everything about this hotel was excellent. A large FREE car park with disabled parking bays. A friendly receptionist greeted us. Our bedroom was large with plenty of room for a wheelchair and a wetroom with a shower seat. There was a kettle with tea and coffee to make a brew. Everything was clean and smart. Only a few steps away was a restaurant for an evening meal and breakfast. Also on the small estate was a petrol station, coffee shop and a well stocked small supermarket. Highly recommended if you need to stop over in the area or visiting Shrewsbury.”

“When I came to the women's health clinic 6 years ago, I had a slight prolapse inside the the wall of the vagina. After having the 3 treatments I found the problem resolved and giving me the opportunity to gain my confidence back in and out of the bedroom. Highly recommended to anyone with or without children, as can help with incontinence, menopause and cancer. Please go and research the women's health clinic.”

“Called in today near to closing time, the staff couldn't be more helpful, she stopped vacuuming the floor and came over to ask if we needed assistance, she was very helpful and certainly knew what she was talking about when we asked for advice for our dog who has a skin allergy especially at this time of year, she gave us professional advice as to what we can use, and the store has a big variety of pills, potions etc thank you we will be calling again soon”
