“Gorgeous little quiet, well laid out site. Great showers and washing up facilities. Large dog walking area. Lovely views across the Cheshire plains. We will definitely be returning xxxx”
“Obviously not a 5* hotel but everything about this hotel was excellent. A large FREE car park with disabled parking bays. A friendly receptionist greeted us. Our bedroom was large with plenty of room for a wheelchair and a wetroom with a shower seat. There was a kettle with tea and coffee to make a brew. Everything was clean and smart. Only a few steps away was a restaurant for an evening meal and breakfast. Also on the small estate was a petrol station, coffee shop and a well stocked small supermarket. Highly recommended if you need to stop over in the area or visiting Shrewsbury.”
“My dog Suki and I had a wonderful Xmas stay at this hotel. The reception staff were awesome especially Mia and Tom who both went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one. We will definitely return to this hotel very soon. Many thanks to you all.”
“Very welcoming. Light and clean, generously sized rooms with country views. Delicious breakfast with healthy and nutritious offerings, and an added bonus of tasty freshly laid eggs in the Full English choice. I will definitely stay there again when I'm in the area.”

“What an absolutely stunning place. For such a huge old building the 1st thing that struck me was the cleanliness, its immaculate. Sunday lunch was beautiful, with friendly service and our room was outstanding. With the winter offer it was real value for money. Our bed was so comfy.”
“We had a wonderful stay at Combermere Abbey. Our host, Stefan was delightful, the view spectacular and cleanliness & comfort was superb.”
“We had a wonderful weekend with extended family staying in tents and safari lodges. The accommodation was fantastic, the lodges were luxurious, clean and spacious. The facilities were fabulous, particularly the biotop pool and the kids beach area. We had an age range of baby to 70s and there really was something for everyone. Plus all the staff were so helpful and nice, even collecting a birthday cake which had been incorrectly delivered for us. We will be back…highly recommended. Ty.”
“Great motel style rooms, clean bright and lots of parking, pub in car park, but quiet, lots of places to eat, and massive co op next door, we ate at the Tilley Raven pub, which was a lovely 20 mins walk”
“A beautiful wedding venue with tons of character and charm - the grounds are stunning and Emma and the wedding team are all so welcoming and friendly.”
“I was delivering garden goods to the property. Staggered by the timeless ambience and beauty of this fine period house and gardens. Like walking into a Somerset Maugham story. Perfect as a film set, hotel or wedding venue. Friendly owners. Am thinking of booking a weekend here.”
“Came for a wedding at pimhill Barn. Much nicer than a soulless premier inn. L&L Col and Margaret very sociable and friendly and had lots of stories to tell. They have a ground floor room with a wet room for anyone with mobility issues. The rooms arehuge. If you like minimalist it's not for you! There's lots of furniture and trinkets to look at, lots of info on the railways and channel tunnel. Breakfast was excellent, vegetarians no problem. Generally clean and comfortable, a bit quirky, very memorable! Parking on site, random check in time not a problem either. Give then a visit!”
“Great place. Homely and got a very warm welcome. Breakfast was top quality local sausages and bacon, a very good filling breakfast. Worth £70 a night. My husband and I definitely want to return Highly recommended”
“I had my wedding here on the 8th August 2025. Abby and Howard did such a fantastic job. Our ceremony was in the cave at the follies, our reception was at the hotel. Our day was absolutely perfect and all our guests complimented all the work Abby and Howard did. The day ran smoothly and there was no stress or issues. The hotel was spotless and extremely clean. They moved our belongings to the bridal suite, and left us a lovely surprise when we retired to our room at night. The food was absolutely delicious. Food was delivered warm and in a timely manner. Abby even assisted me with setting everything up ready the day before my wedding. I cannot compliment Abby and Howard enough. Abby especially has been wonderful over the last 18 months of wedding planning. She has always been polite, responsive and so incredibly kind and welcoming to my family, guests and ourselves. Our wedding was a very long day and Abby and Howard were absolutely exceptional. We truly cannot thank you enough for giving us the wedding of our dreams. I would strongly recommend couples to get married at the follies, it an intimate wedding is preferred. It was beautiful and the views were just breathtaking. We had additional guests for our wedding breakfast, with further guests for our evening reception. All at the Hawkstone Park Hotel. Abby was very accommodating to our needs. Abby, Howard, we will never forget your kindness and hard work. Thank you both so much. We will forever be grateful. Highly recommend!!! x x x”
“We celebrated my daughter’s 18th birthday here and there were 32 of us dining and we had such a lovely time. The staff were brilliant to deal with while we were planning and collating everyone’s meal orders and decorated the room for us after I had left balloons there earlier in the day. That was a lovely surprise. The food was delicious and arrived without any problems. We felt looked after and the whole evening was fabulous.”
“Beautiful holiday park, staff great, clean and well spaced out between the lodges in the quieter part of the park, lodge was stunning, so spacious, everything you could need, fantastic, been a few times now”
“Extremely interesting house packed full of history”
“Perfect stop on our cycle trip. They were great with storing our bikes and the room was perfect and cosy. The breakfast was also just what we needed and more than enough to eat. Would stay again in the future.”
“Outstanding food. Piping hot, freshly cooked, excellent quality and great value. Will definitely be back.”
“We went to The Loopy Shrew for Christmas meal. It was extremely busy and there wasn't much space to move in the bar area. The food however arrived quickly and was very tasty. It was a good meal and the drinks were nice, but a little expensive.”
“We were looking for a base for visits to Alton Towers and Chester Zoo and this was perfect. The whole family adored the place. Lovely, clean and spacious. The back garden was a real bonus (I think only one cottage has a garden from what I could see so I’d recommend booking that one if you can). There’s a gas BBQ and chiminea in the garden, which we made use of. The wi-fi connection was very poor. There were occasions when we were watching Netflix on the TV when it simply wouldn’t connect. We had the same issue trying to connect iPads and phones. Even when they did connect, the signal was on one bar. We ended up using mobile data and creating hotspots for the kids to connect to. Not ideal and not really a problem. Certainly not something I’d mark the place down for as it was brilliant and the owners were lovely. Highly recommended!”
