Amazing viewpoint with extensive views over the Cheshire gap, to Jodrell Bank radio telescope, Wales, Manchester beyond (on a clear day). Small free NT car park (street parking available nearby) and rough paths enable you to access the outside of the folly and various rocky outcrops for the lovely views.

Built in 1754 by Randal Wilbraham of nearby Rode Hall as a folly - designed as it is, to look like a ruined castle and he used it as a summerhouse. Given to the national trust in 1937. Free to visit and free small car park it's a great place for a picnic with great almost 360 views. Quarried since ancient times take care with children as there are unprotected drops.

Welcome to Mow Cop cared for by the National Trust. Free to enter and free car parking. Fantastic views across Staffordshire and Cheshire. The best time is sunset or sunrise. But a clear day has impressive views where in the distance you can see the Welsh hills and particularly there's a great view of Jodrell bank lying just past Homeschapel. Great visit would highly recommend

βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ Truly magical place. Mow Cop Castle feels like something out of a fairytale. The ruins are dramatic and full of character, perched high with breathtaking views in every direction. Itβs peaceful, atmospheric, and perfect for a reflective walk or a fun little adventure β especially with a dog in tow! A hidden treasure well worth the visit.

Free car park, good stepped path to the top , no access free to the top. I have a knee issue and needed some help from my partner so even though a short walk to the top some may find it difficult. Views from the top are stunning and well worth a visit for those alone

What an amazing, underestimated and beautiful National Trust protected site this is! We could see 5 counties at the top on this lovely day in August. I hear the best view possible is 7 counties on a cold, clear winter's day.

A nice little place to visit on a clear day, it's a little tricky to get to, having to go through a few side streets. Once there tho it's quite a nice area to stroll around with spaces for a few cars, no facilities tho. There are info boards about the castle plus lovely views once you get up higher, all In all a very pleasant time was had.

Stumbled across this place with the kids . Amazing to think that people used to have these whimsical ideas a d want to uo thier picnic game by building a fake castle ruin to hang out in. Nowadays I just decide which meal deal to get. Free parking near the top and great views of the surrounding countryside. We'll worth a visit if you are nearby

I do love mow cop and the walks around are just incredible. We dfound a beautiful 10k route that ended up there. Its a shame some people can't respect the beauty as there's a lot of beer cans bottles and litter. However, it is a beautiful spot and very peaceful
