“Been meaning to write a review for ages... this place is stunning and so are the owners, staff and food. Sophia and the team have an incredible job as custodians of such a beautiful and historic building and throughout lockdown they have shown strength and resilience beyond measure to keep it open and thriving. It was the only place we had takeaway from during lockdown, I think it was about 8 times in the end- amazing fish and chips. We were delighted to be able to eat in properly and each time the food and service has been perfect The menu is exquisite, wonderful fusions of flavours and presented like a piece of art! The 7 course tasting menu that should have been our NYE celebration, took place in May after lockdown and it was stunning and a much needed very special treat for my husband and I. I want to get there at lunchtime and enjoy the beautiful garden before the end of the summer!”

“After a busy day ,we called for an early evening meal. The pub is Beautiful and very well run.The food was outstanding. “Fantastic! A thorough assessment completed of our 11week old once tongue-tie was suspected. Our baby is breastfed and was clicking during feeds, taking on air & becoming windy aftereach feed. All of our concerns were listened to and Sarah & Lisa were so kind. We found our little one had a posterior tongue-tie with only 50% function. They talked me through each and every step and supported me throughout. This included feeding support when following up and includes access to a Facebook support group for ongoing help if necessary. Now a week later, there is no clicking during feeds, reflux has massively reduced & the biggest difference - our little one is no longer needing burping after each feed. Overall Sarah & Lisa have fantastic knowledge on all things breastfeeding and tongue-tie, and we highly recommend. Thank you for your help!”

“Fab stopover in our VW in their car park. Highly recommend - our best stopover so far - access to toilets 24 hours and access to water tap. Need to book table in advance as this pub is definitely on the up. Packed out on a Thursday evening and hugely popular with locals supporting the new owners. Very hardworking friendly staff, good food including vegan option - the steak and ale pie was gorgeous and good value at £15. Lovely garden - lots of seating some under cover, kids and dog-friendly (dog treats available) and lovely location.”
