“Booked this quiet quaint cottage near Ashford, Derbyshire for a relaxing week, a little sightseeing and dog walking. That's what we got. We stayed in Orchard Cottage which sleeps four, a double bed and a bunk bed. Mastered lighting the log fire, there is electric central heating throughout. This cottage is on a farm that has horses and a resident peacock. Plenty of places to visit like Matlock, Bakewell, Buxton, Castleton. Research them and you will find lots to do with children. We would plan our day, pack a cool box and explore.”

“Stayed her one night, also had dinner and breakfast Accommodation was first rate starting with a warm greeting. The room was well appointed, clean and quiet. Would definitely stay here again. The dinner was top notch gastropub with great service and food. The bar well stocked with great wines and real ales. Breakfast was amazing and well beyond the normal fry. Would definitely eat here again.”

“The Boot is half walk to meet my mom, and we’ll 100% be back. Fabulous location just off the A38, and plenty of parking. The food was sublime and a wine list to generously accompany the dishes. A running theme with all my reviews is that I like a nice wine list and the Boot offers exactly that. The food was so fresh and full of flavour, beautifully presented. A real Gastro Pub that welcomes dogs which is important for us as a family of dog owners, who enjoy the finer things. Thank you to the wonderful Heidi who look after us, you made mom’s birthday experience thorough enjoyable. We’ll be back!”
