This is a great place to visit if you have even a passing interest in history. It is a really great insight into life in the early Nineteenth Century in a working class environment, as well as the workings of a ceramics factory. Well worth a visit.

I bought a cup and saucer set and a teapot. Even though they were outlet items, they weren’t cheap, so I thought carefully before buying them. I planned them to be lifelong treasures. However, when I got home and hand-washed them, I found that the handle of one mug was coming off. It wasn’t properly glued, so I couldn’t use it to drink tea. The customer service said I could exchange it at the shop and didn’t specify any deadline. Since I live far away, I couldn’t go back immediately. After three months, I finally had a chance to visit nearby and planned to exchange it. But the shop staff refused, saying the 28-day exchange period had passed. Even when I showed them my correspondence with customer service, they didn’t listen. It was clearly a manufacturing defect, but the staff didn’t check properly and showed no understanding. I was very disappointed. The Burleigh tea set was supposed to be my treasure, but now it has become an unpleasant memory.

Lovely shop with two floors, price may be a bit high but if you have the history and see all the manufacturing processes, it is comprehensible.

Another Wordcraft poetry event run in an atmospheric room. History meeting the modern world. Great afternoon listening to some very good poetry.

This place is definitely a place you have to visit if you are doing a potteries shop tour, they sell all sorts of beautiful crockery, infact it’s that good that all the profit I made from working the Christmas market there, I spent on the Ralph Lauren range…

Very nice items, but still expensive but also very well worth the price when you consider they are hand made

Good parking, brilliant look into the past by simply walking around the various original rooms which are filled with a whole variety of pottery ware. You can pay for a heritage guided tour which I may do next time around. A cafe serves drinks and the local speciality of lobby, a delicious bowl of hot vegetables and meat. My mother's was the best of course. Smaller independ shops are located in the same group of buildings. I've got my eye on several Christmas presents for purchase the next time I visit.
