But my amazing hairdresser Stephanie Curtis @ Curtis & Bell in Bingley always manages to make my hair look fuller than it actually is... & after a recent illness & a combination of medications & weight loss... my hair has become extremely thin & sparse... So during my recent appointment .....after taking Steph's professional advice I decided to have a few extensions....to make my hair look & feel a bit thicker......& what an amazing transformation!!! ..... After choosing to have two colours blended together (caramel all over with a touch of blonde highlights) ... then cutting & styling into a layered gradual bob & adding a few extentions to the thinning areas....i left the salon feeling like a new women....My hair type is not the easiest for any stylist... “Truly Excellent Service at Station Eight. I recently moved to the area and feel very lucky to have found Station Eight. I have never been happier with my hair than I am now, all thanks to Kathryn. Her skill, knowledge and care has totally transformed my hair. It’s the healthiest it has ever been, Kathryn’s attention to detail and genuine passion for hair is unequivocal. At one of my visits, I witnessed a very unpleasant experience that I feel needs to be acknowledged. A customer was incredibly rude and confrontational towards Kathryn while she was finishing my hair. The customer was so irate because Kathryn was not available at the exact time of her hair appointment. Kathryn had finished my hair 4 minutes later than expected. Kathryn remained calm, polite and professional throughout, despite being treated unfairly, handled the incident with grace and professionalism. Kathryn is welcoming, skilled and genuinely listens to what you want. To achieve this expertise would be very difficult to do if, us as customers are not understanding when delays happen. Before I moved to this area, my local salon was one that is known for its expertise all over the world, I have never arrived at their salon when my hairdresser had been waiting for me to start my hair, because that would be impossible if they are providing the total expertise as mentioned above. I expect this inconsiderate customer was very troubled on this particular day, I felt sad for her frustration over such a minor inconvenience and expected she would have rang to apologise when calmer. However I was shocked to see that her comments below offer no remorse whatsoever, which is extremely worrying. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Station Eight — and especially Kathryn — to anyone looking for a talented and down-to-earth hairdresser who genuinely cares about her clients. I'm so glad I found her. Must not forget Caitlin who is again very professional, welcoming and attentive to your particular needs. “Just a general review but I absolutely adore S&J. So friendly, none of the worries that they're talking about you behind your back (which I have experienced at other salons) as the staff just have a giggle with you and usually speak in English for comfort reasons anyway. They're so quick with nails but not careless at all and they're so kind. The nails EAT every single time, they have NEVER failed me. They can do whatever you ask! Recently did my wedding nails and those beauties stayed on for FOUR WEEKS! (Keeping in mind the previous salon I had tried last minute had badly hurt my nails and theirs popped off after a few days). A big point to make is that they're also transparent about pricing - they won't quote you a price and add on little bits at the end which is a big anxiety for me. They're upfront and honest. Michael in particular is very talented. Just a side note - my mum had been going to this salon since they started. She passed away recently and we needed her nails off (for religious reasons) but she could not move - at 11pm Michael came to our home and removed them from my Mum because she had known him since he had started. It's things like this that truly form a community and I cannot recommend these people enough. 10/10 I just can't imagine using anyone else again.”
