This school gives a student so many opportunities and experiences every day, whether it being in class, after school clubs, trips etc. The majority of teachers I have been taught by or even talked too had been very inspiring and motivating. They have taught in a way in which you could ask questions without being scared or hesitant, stay motivated and willingly work as hard as you possibly can every single day. This school delivered their amazing education in numerous different ways allowing me to pick up on an abundance of different skills on the side. (Which would not only help me in my future, but even now in my everyday life.) Not only maths and English you would encounter, but a variety of different fun and educational lessons. I love this school and one review alone would not do justice for everything the school needs credit for. I am Forever grateful for my Incredible Experience and education. “I wouldn’t send our little boy anywhere else, the staff are respectful, compassionate, dedicated and above all experienced with children. The children benefit from a diverse range of skilled childcare professionals and the children are able to utilize the skills of the team to ensure they are able to not only feel safe, supported and nurtured but they are also offered educational content each day, I can see from below that some parents do not understand the basic principles of children settling into a new placement, as parents we need to lead my example, be understanding and empathetic. Jump for joy is 5 star ⭐️. Amazing work to the team.”

He had a rocky start but the patience and guidance given to him quickly got him back on the straight and narrow . I would like to express my thanks to the head teacher and his form teacher for the welcome and effort they put in to making his stay at Shaw a rewarding experience. I would also extend this to the rest of the staff as it seems the school is a happy and pleasant environment. My wife and I have just returned from watching the school play , I was astounded by the performance and the songs, in fact I would go as far as to say was the best I have seen watching my children and grandchildren over the years. The music and lyrics were poignant and emotional and the team should be proud. I would thank you again for for your efforts with Jude and may you go from strength to strength in making your school the success it obviously is .”

Do not believe all the negative reviews that you may hear as this does not reflect the school at it's current state. St Matthew Academy held an open evening last night and it was very impressive. Parents and members of the local community loved seeing the pupils in action and the amazing facilities, pupils and options the academy has to offer. This school has come a long way since St Joseph's and it's recent GCSE results are the best the academy has ever seen. 5 stars out 5 for this school. Please come and see for yourself.”

My daughter, Zara Tokhee, attends the club, and as a very shy child, I was initially quite anxious about how she would adapt to the environment. From day one, however, my concerns were quickly eased. Every single member of the team demonstrated genuine kindness, patience, and attentiveness, creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all the children. One particular gentleman who manages the attendance stands out – he is incredibly friendly, respectful, and approachable. His warm greeting each morning helped Zara feel comfortable and gave me reassurance as a parent. It’s clear that the staff go above and beyond to personally check on each child, ensuring they are settled, happy, and engaged. What impressed me most is how the team made efforts to communicate with Zara regularly, gently encouraging her to come out of her shell. Their approach has been both compassionate and consistent. To see her begin to interact, smile, and enjoy herself has been a true joy. As a parent, nothing is more comforting than seeing your child thrive in a nurturing environment.
