Great meal tonight . First time trying this restaurant and we were very impressed. Food was very tasty with plenty of choice. We chose this restaurant based on them having lots of positive online reviews.
Had a great meal here for 4 - we had the 5 course menu, with a bit of everything. The food was fantastic and came quickly after we ordered. I would highly recommend having the platter, as you get a good taste of lots of different dishes. Plenty of food, and the strawberry mix drink was really nice. The staff are great and very friendly, and there is a nice atmosphere inside. Good for couples, small groups and larger groups. Will be going again for sure.
I had a wonderful experience at koinonia! The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors and perfectly spiced. Every dish tasted fresh and homemade. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with beautiful decor that showed Kerala’s charm✨. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy genuine Kerala cuisine and great hospitality!
A large family group visit to Koinonia at Diwali to celebrate a birthday on a Sunday lunchtime. We all had the Diwali set menu including the child with us. We had a warm friendly welcome into the nicely decorated restaurant and the staff were all dressed in beautiful cultural clothing. We were seated and offered drinks promptly. Staff came to speak to us about gluten free changes/options for one of our diners and shortly after our food started to arrive. Wow absolutely amazing, each course was generous in portion size, looked fabulous, smelled unbelievably good and tasted fantastic. We were all thrilled with our meals and the cost was very competitive, drinks were fairly priced, 0% Cobra was also available for the drivers amongst our group. We would all highly recommend a visit to Koinonia it’s a gem of a restaurant in the centre of Newark on Trent with plenty of nearby parking options
A genuine restaurant for the Indian and specifically South Indian cuisine. A very friendly staff. Loved the Ghee roast Dosa, Medu vada, and today's special Chicken kebabs. For the main course had the butter chicken curry with appams. The main course really made my evening. A fairly reasonable price as well.
I pass this restaurant on my way to a regular event, the smells have always made me curious, my nose has not let me down. The food was fantastic. The service impeccable and great atmosphere. I will be back soon.
So I find myself in Newark on a Monday evening and this place scores highly on all the reviews so why not? First impressions are of just another curry house until you look at the menu which is very different to what I have seen anywhere before. Indeed I was that unsure that I relied on my waiters guidance to help me choose. What came to my table was really really good and undoubtedly very different to anything I have had before. Washed down with a couple of cold glasses of Cobra, this was a very memorable meal. Service was also excellent. If you fancy a change, do give this place a try
I’ve visited Koinonia a few times over the past year, the service is friendly, the Executive Lunch Deal is an absolute bargain and always filling. The only thing I would like to see is labels to know what each individual curry is so I could maybe order the ones I like most in future.
Second visit here and I’ve never been disappointed. Indian food but not as we know it, the chef here takes a much more authentic approach inspired by the south west India. Absolutely beautiful, great quality, good variety, amazing!! Wish it was closer to my home town
