We turned up on the off chance of getting a table and were surprised that there was plenty of availability. Food was good and served very quickly (not surprising given the lack of clientele). Staff were very polite and helpful. Due to the emptiness of the restaurant, there was really no atmosphere to make it an enjoyable evening.
First time visiting Basilico last night. We were very impressed. Alex was very welcoming and explained the specials that were available. The food was fantastic and was value for money. There was a wide range of dishes to choose from. We would definitely recommend.
We went to Basilico on a Saturday evening a couple of weeks ago, without a booking, but the restaurant wasn’t too busy and was able to cater for us. We were both tempted by the specials. I had a tuna steak dish which came with king prawns, capers, olives and cherry tomatoes on a bed of linguine and with a touch of lemon, garlic and cream. My husband opted for a veal dish which came with peppers, onions and tomatoes, and a side of potatoes and vegetables. Both meals were outstanding. My tuna was a very large juicy cut, cooked medium/rare so it retained juices and was very meaty. Combined with the prawns it was a very filling dish and incredibly tasty. My husband said his was beautifully cooked – the veal was flame-grilled so the meat was tender and juicy – and the accompaniments levelled up the meal. We decided to go back the following Saturday and didn’t book again. This time, the restaurant was very full and we were lucky enough to get the last small table for two. I chose the tuna dish again as it was still on the specials and having enjoyed it so much before, I couldn’t resist. My husband this time opted for the fillet steak with garlic and mushroom sauce, with home cooked chips. He’s very fussy about his steak but it came perfectly cooked just as he’d requested and he said it was tender and flavoursome, and the sauce very tasty. On both occasions he has also gone for the crème brulee, which is very good, and the Primitivo on offer is a great red wine option, which we usually follow up with a limoncello, and on the first occasion, and very well made espresso martini. Basilico has an extensive menu with plenty of good options to suits all tastes, and a well-stocked bar. We’re almost reluctant to share how good it is, but we will definitely be sure to book next time!

Absolutely lovely restaurant hidden away in Sutton Coldfield. We booked a table for 10 on a Sunday and I think they ended up opening early for us which was really nice of them. The food was excellent - I had the scallops as a starter which were cooked perfectly. We all had different mains which were all cooked fresh to order and were all delicious The service was great and our server was really attentive and friendly. I’d definitely some back here again and would highly recommend it! ☺️
Popped in for a well deserved Friday night meal with my partner. We ordered only mains. They were delicious. I had a hanging mixed kebab and my partner had the prawn main. We were both impressed by the food and the service. We will be back. To work our way through the menu. Highly recommend. Great value for 2 mains and alcoholic drinks. You will love it
My friend dragged me out to eat here. We had a lovely warm welcome and everyone seemed genuinely happy to meet you. Our host was Mahsa. She was so helpful and took time to explain things and check up on us, it was amazing service. Then the food arrived! That's seriously were this place shine! Freshly cooked food and you taste it! It really was amazing! Parking isn't the best if you can't get a spot outside, but it's worth the walk for the food! Highly recommend. ENJOY!
Very polite and attentive staff. Chilli prawns were very tasty. Pasta was cooked al dente which gave a nicely touch as always. We couldn’t leave the place without tasting their tiramisu and there was no retreat, they even put us a bigger portion to share! Nice atmosphere. I highly recommend this hidden gem!
It's an average restaurant, few things need improvement. The food was looking good but not as tasty as I was expecting. Also there was no music. I liked the open kitchen and how clean the place was.
So this restaurant is a hidden gem that needs to be discovered by everyone in the area as the food is delicious and I had a very pleasant experience here. I ordered a garlic bread that was very tasty indeed and enough for starter and ordered the lamb kebab skewer for main which was also delicious. It was served on the skewer with a tasty variety of vegetables. The menu has a wide variety of Mediterranean options that I certainly will return to try. What I really like about this place other than the fresh and delicious food was the decor and cleanliness of the restaurant. Everything was literally in immaculate condition, from the seats to the walls to the toilets to the beautiful decor. Every thing was literally spotless and felt brand new. Very impressed as this is the cleanest restaurant I have been to in a long while as well as the outstanding food! Top marks and highly recommended.
