DO NOT GO HERE. I had food poisoning for two weeks after eating here. Kicked in almost immediately. Diarrhea and violently ill for two weeks straight. Went with two friends who had the same experience.

Always amazing taste, quality and service. This is my favourite place to eat in and takeaway. The staff are so polite and helpful I highly recommend. Their lamb kabuli chana is my new go to dish the lamb melts in your mouth and it's so full of flavour. Their midweek deal makes eating out affordable but they don't scrimp on the quality or service

Food was absolutely disgusting! How you can send food like the ones I was sent is unbelievable. The chips and the curries were freezing cold and the wrong ones. I do not recommend this place.

We visited Shaban just before Christmas 2022. It was not a good experience. The restaurant was cold and when I asked why it was so cold I was told by a waiter, “It’s winter, what do you expect?” No attempt was made to make my family and children comfortable. My children kept coats and hats on for the remainder of the meal. Not very nice. We were seated right at the back of the restaurant by the service counter even though the restaurant was empty when we arrived? It became apparent that the rude staff would continue to reach over our heads and serve food or shout orders to each other throughout the remainder of our meal. Appalling. To top it off, the restaurant is running an online service where people walk into the restaurant to collect their orders. Throughout our meal we had people queueing beside our table, leaning against our chairs, paying at the cash register behind our heads. It was horrible. The restaurant needs a specific waiting area for people collecting orders away from guests in the restaurant. Service was bad. Food was slapped onto my mums plate with no care. No food warmers were on the table to keep food warm as other guests seemed to have. My daughters ordered some fried chicken and were given tough bits of chicken on a plate. The rest of the food was just about ok. The restaurant decor is extremely dated and in extreme need of extensive modernisation. I also have to ask whether there were racist undertones to our treatment. Seated at a table at the back of the restaurant where no diner should have been seated. The rudeness of staff and terrible service. All other dinners (white) were seated at the front of the restaurant. As a person of colour I feel that this could have been the case. I would advise anyone wanting to eat at the restaurant to think carefully. There are far superior Indian restaurants in the area. Shaban is not even a patch on these.

I've eaten in here many times and my most recent visit was excellent. I had a vegetable jalfrezi, chili and ciriander naan, poppadoms and sauces for just under £15. No drinks licence so bring your osn alcohol On a previous visit I had vegetable biryani with a starter for £11. Not the cheapest and for a takeaway not as good as Kings Balti on Kings Road, Kingstanding. Will go again, but not for a takeaway.

We were in Boldmere around teatime and we thought we would try this establishment for a change. Staff were very welcoming indeed, they showed us to our table which we hadn't booked and within minutes Pompadons and all the relishes turned up. This was great as we were both hungry. The menus were given to us at the same time. We ordered our main course which didn't take long to arrive. The chicken tikka balti which I ordered I thought was very plain, lacking flavour, however the chicken main which my wife ordered had lots of flavour. Good size portions and not badly priced, £32.50 for two main meals and a shared starter. If I was going to be picky, they don't serve alcohol, you have to bring your own which we didn't know at the time, so other than this not a bad place all in all.
