Absolutely devastated that old Damascus Coventry road had closed down, but discovered a second branch on kings heath high street! Food is always 10/10, nothing to fault at all, been my favourite Syrian food place for many years. Nice indoor seating, service was impeccable, and food is nothing short of amazing. An absolute must try!
Ordered for take out. Waited 1 hour and 20 mins for freezing cold food rice was soggy and meat was ripped apart and Hard not even soft and edible and hard and cold! All I got was a sorry. Spend 20 pounds on 2 sad portions for me and my kids. Old Damascus is way better just about ate the salad because was so hungry. Vile
A beautiful jewel in the middle of King's Heath as well as an authentic delicious small restaurant where you can try the unique flavours of Syria. After a photoshoot, I tried a portion of chicken shawarma, so soft and yummy!
Food ordered from @myolddamascus Delivered well within the estimated delivery time 10/10. Packaged fairly well with no spills or leaks 9/10. Fries were just below average but definitely edible 3/10. Sheesh kebabs were fairly decent not overly juicy (a little costly in relation to quality) 6/10. The chicken shawarma was average, a decent portion size but had a strange flavour. Also. They weren't tender and juicy as would be expected 6/10. The rice was very flavoursome and my favourite part of the meal by far. A bit on the greasy side but nice nevertheless 8.5/10. The salad and dips were spot on. The salad was fresh and crunchy and the dips went almost perfectly with the meal. 8/10 The food sheikh says: not bad so give it a try!
Been here a few times now! Food is still amazing! Very fresh and full of flavours! Fries were amazing and the salad was fresh too. Service was brilliant in the restaurant, overall very happy with the visit, will definitely visit again soon!
Had totally delicious lightly spiced shawarma chicken on a bed of moist saffron rice, with salads and dressings. Large portions..and was able to bring home what I couldn't eat. I also bought a tray of middle Eastern sweets to eat later with coffee at home. Good choice menu and teas, cold soft drinks and coffees. . Food served hot, by friendly and helpful staff. Nice middle Eastern (Syrian) atmosphere...and music. Recommend.
I treated my husband to a lovely meal at Old Damascus in Kingsheath. Delicious fresh hot food served with a smile. Lovely clean venue and staff very helpful. Clean toilets, the only thing is parking is on the side roads. Other than that it was a lovely venue. Will definitely return. 5*
beautifully cooked food in an understated family friendly setting. delicious starters and mains with efficient service. recommend the shish taouk with pasta, the chicken thigh burger was succulent and spiced perfectly as was the lamb. all food came out hot and tasted fresh. we didn’t have room for dessert but the tea selection and waffles on the next table looked divine. always a good sign when arabic speaking patrons are complimenting the food. well done guys we will be back!
It's small cozy and clean place. The staff are friendly. They serve traditional Syrian food. Huge portions and very good value for money. My girls loved their samosas, kibbeh and dessert.
