If you value a pleasant environment and expect a five-star hotel experience, this is not the destination for you. Having stayed at numerous boutique luxury hotels, I can confidently say this establishment falls short of that standard. The restaurant resembles a bustling marketplace, complete with a confusing menu. We ordered a steak priced at £28, only to receive one with frozen, poorly cut ends. The hot tub in our luxury room was far from luxurious, and the room itself was exceedingly basic and unclean. We were never asked if our meal met our expectations, nor were we inquired about our overall satisfaction upon departure. I am truly astonished that this hotel is regarded as high-end.

The best home made meal I’ve had in a long time. What a find this was and perfect for stops for people travelling on A1m. Prices great and everything super hot freshly cooked! Absolutely recommend the Yorkshire pudding burger!! Thanks for the wonderful visit and the warm friendly atmosphere 10/10

Called unplanned for Father’s Day, we ate from the Father’s Day menu which had a great choice of starters main and puddings. The service was excellent warm and friendly and attentive. The main meals were beautiful home made and very tasty. The puddings were delicious and again home made. It’s been a good few years since we had been but we won’t be leaving it long before our next visit!

On a recent visit found beer OK BUT food was Aweful!!!! really NOT worth a visit.. I see there are good reviews on here Obviously before the pub changed hands.. The food was well overcooked and borderline inedible.. £9.99 for overcooked fish. The so called batter was like concrete and chips were burnt almost black. However the location of the pub was nice with views across the lake.. Service was reasonable but not professional. But the food needs serious attention and possibly a professional chef to bring the food up to a reasonable edible professional standard at which the public will find it acceptable..

Great drinks and bar service. Good limited to pizza’s and sandwiches until they get a chef on board. Great atmosphere though well worth a visit.

Got here just as they were opening for the day. Came with my dog (the whole pub is dog friendly) and spoke to the owner who was a very welcoming man. Had a bite to eat and sat outside, great experience.

Use to be a frequent visitor for many years when Trevor, Jane and family had the pub, when they moved out it went downhill drastically and we only visited once after that! We heard it was under new management with Sharon at the helm and Shaun back in the kitchen so we gave it a try and was not disappointed, excellent food an beer and great staff, chuffed to bits it is back on form. Well done guys!
