On this visit jacket potato was old and cold. I had ordered tuna and mayo baguette but benefit of doubt may have been misheard. My partnerβs chicken and bacon baguette was also cold. Chicken tough and bacon obviously from the mornings breakfast as crispy was not the word. The wait was long for just a baguette. Stick to the breakfasts and carvery which are normally very good.

We visited The Island Pool on 19th of October for breakfast before a family day out. We was welcomed by a lovely lady who explained everything and served us promptly. The food was piping hot and plentiful, so much choice. Not one complaint and the hot chocolates for the kids were given a 10/10! When leaving we noticed they were setting up for a carvery so we enquired with the aforementioned lovely lady. We were pleasantly suprised to that they served till 8pm. As we enjoy breakfast so much we booked a carvery for 7pm on the way back from our day out. Same warm welcome, same top notch food, as super fresh and so much choice even towards the end of service. The staff here work so hard and are so welcoming, will definatly be coming back to try their main meals, thanks guys!

Visited on a busy sunday afternoon. Checked in by a lovely lady quickly and she explained exactly what to do and how to get served. We opted for the carvery and pudding deal which is fabulous value. The food was marvellous, everything cooked to perfection and well presented. We cant wait to come back and try some of the main meals. Also a special mention to the two young lads who were very helpful and helped me with collecting my carvery. Great afternoon thank you Island Pool.

Initially posted on Facebook on 21/09/2025 but my review was deleted. We visited today as a party of 15β¦. The table was booked for 2pm. However, upon our arrival the table was not quite readyβ¦ we waited approx 10 mins to be seated which seemed reasonable. We then had approx a 20 min queue to pay for our carvery, order drinks, etc. We then had a further 20 min wait for the carvery which all seemed reasonable. Service at the carvery was a little slow but it was Sunday and busy so no complaints. We finished our food and had ordered puddings but due to paying separately not all the food arrived at the same time. A waitress came over to our table at 4pm to advise that our 2 hour slot was over and the table was needed for the next party. I donβt think she was aware that some of us were still waiting for food. We agreed that one of the tables could be removed, during which time my mother, who is in her late 70s and has problems with confusion, kindly commented to another young waitress that she did not think it was good manners to be removing our tables before we had finished eating. I told the waitress that it would be OK and not to worry about it as we would be leaving shortly. The waitress walked away and we quickly ate the remainder of our food. Unexpectedly, we heard a loud voice shout from across the bar, βWHO MADE MY WAITRESS CRY?β A little confused, we advised that we had commented that we didnβt think it was appropriate to ask us to leave before the food we had ordered and paid for, had been brought to the table. The whole restaurant was staring at our family which was extremely embarrassing for all of us and made us feel quite uncomfortable. As we left I apologised for the confusion but the manager, βSteph,β was extremely rude, despite the delay being due to the waiting times at the bar and carvery and for the puddings. Maybe next time βSteph,β donβt try and embarrass your customers. We spent a significant amount of money in the restaurant today and the delay was an error on you being busy. Ironically, when we arrived you did mention that it would only take one person βto make you blow.β Steph, I would suggest training your staff in both disability awareness and customer service. You also mentioned that we should have complained to the lady who took away our table as opposed to the younger waitressβ¦.. how were we expected to know this? My mother was not rude and Iβm sure other customers who were in the restaurant at the time would agree that your conduct was inappropriate given your managerial role. As a family, we are still in shock at your reaction today when we were being compliant and raised no objection to you removing our table and telling us to leave when we were still waiting for food. We have never quite experienced anything like this. I think most would agree that a manager shouting across the restaurant in front of many customers is extremely unprofessional and created an uncomfortable atmosphere for all of the customers. For reference: we did not ask for a refund. I did ask for an apology but Steph felt that her actions were justified.

we come here after we visit kinver edge for a drink and a meal. this place is very nice, thereβs seating outside when the weather is nice, they have a nice size carpark, drinks and food is lovely, especially the fish and chips, my family have the sunday roast and they love it, they keep nagging me to take them again considering we live in birmingham. friendly staff and great service. oh and the chips were delicious.

What a find. A carvery meal with dessert for Β£9.99. A choice of meats beef, turkey or pork. The roast potatoes are beautiful and the veg and Yorkshire puds are great. There's a choice of desserts . Very helpful friendly staff. Can't wait to go back .

Great place to go, we went for breakfast with the whole family (8 of us in total) and although we did not book in advance (recommend doing so) they did fit us in. Bright and comfortable with you just ordering at the bar and help yourself to the buffet style cooked breakfast. Good selection and well cooked so a high standard considering the amount they cook. You do have to order your drink separately but although it is just instant coffee you could up and help yourself to refill your mug. Overall for our first visit here very impressed and will return for a meal mid-week. Well worth a visit but it is popular so advise booking to avoid not getting a table.

First time at the buffet breakfast today, will definitely be back. Food was excellent, full range of breakfast items and all well cooked and good quality. The staff were very friendly and helpful with took our dog with us and she was made very welcome and was given sausages once the buffet finished. The tea was unlimited and very nice

Carvary excellent, as always. However, I had asked for a quiet table when booking as my son is autistic. When we arrived we were seated at a table for four right in front of the carvery - obviously a busy area. I asked if we could move to a table in a less busy area, explaining why, to be told that every table was booked and that I should have said my son was autistic when booking. She was not very helpful and her attitude left a lot to be desired. There were a number of empty tables, at that point and I feel sure we could have been seated elsewhere. We did consider leaving but were both starving. My son displayed signs of anxiety due to the hustle and bustle but managed to hold it together. Great food but disappointing service unfortunately.

We only called by chance and had the best carvery weβve had for ages. The food was excellent, plenty of choice, hot and fresh. The staff were all very friendly. Definitely worth a try by any estimation. Will certainly be going back
