Excellent Xmas dinner , went for a staff Xmas do, hot food great portion sizes , warm cosy atmosphere with festive spirit. Extra gravy boats would have been appreciated and no cranberry sauce was provided until asked. Apart from that all was excellent. Thank you all at Blacksmiths arms for a fabulous meal this afternoon. .

The team accommodated a large party with only a weeks notice and no deposit. We had plenty of space, the staff were quick and friendly, and somehow all 16 mains came out within 5 minutes of each other! We all loved our main meals. I had the mussels and the sauce they were served with was incredible. We had mixed reviews on the desserts, but honestly that wouldn't stop any of us booking again. We all loved it!

A great pub / restaurant with amazing views. Good outdoor space, loads of free parking and a campsite as well. Real ale, great lagers and wine. Menu looks very good with a large array of choice. There is an ice cream bar with sooo many choices.

Really lovely pub with fantastic views of Huddersfield. Food was delicious. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area!

What a pub!!! Lovely location. Great food. Had squid and Camembert for starters. Then steak pie and fish pie for mains. It's been a long time since I have found a decent pub that serves decent pub food with good servings and for a reasonable price. In terms of the food I have absolutely nothing to complain about. It was disappointing that there is no table service for drinks and for ordering your food, everything is done at the bar. The staff were nice. The decor was lovely and the seating was comfortable. Overall a fantastic place. We will definitely be back. X

Stayed in our camper van in the car park grounds. Use of loos when pub open. Plenty of bins and chemical waste disposal too. No obligation to eat at the pub but so glad we did. Lovely home cooked food. Service was great too. It was very busy and the staff never stopped and were so friendly. Lovely outside area with amazing views.

Called on Sunday for a roast dinner and one of the huge Yorkshire puddings that have been mentioned and photographed on here recently. Disappointingly the only day that they don't serve giant Yorkshire pudding is on Sunday! Seemed a little disorganised but I think there was a few new members of staff, also they were advertising for staff, so it would not put me off going again. We had to find ourselves a menu and then you order at the bar. Roast beef... And the pork were delicious. The veg needed a little butter and seasoning, as did the mash potatoes. The gravy needs more work. Portion size was good, we didn't leave a scrap. (I would have to disagree with the previous reviewer who said the portions were too big, portions were perfect, for us) No check back, although the friendly young lady that we paid at the bar upon leaving did ask if all was OK, albeit a bit late at this point. Very busy place so I would advise booking a table. Good value for money at £13 for a Sunday roast dinner.

Went for lunch ordered roast dinner came was nice ordered fillet steak medium well not burnt, 1st one came burnt we questioned if it was even a fillet. 2nd one came burnt also spoke to the chef who brought the fillet steak out and you could quite obviously see it wasn't a fillet steak on the plate. Seems the staff can't handle criticism, would not recommend eating steak here at all.

Called in for Sunday tea. Modern and clean, but with a traditional feel, this is a lovely pub. It has a campsite out back with lovely views. The food is home made and delicious. At the time of writing, they had a Sunday menu that is £4.95 per starter or dessert and £10.95 for mains. The service was friendly and fast. Outside there is a nice area to sit under shelter or there is ample seating inside. We'll be back.
