Went for Sunday lunch today (veggie option) it was lovely and the portions so big! Super friendly waitress, and staff (thank you) My little dog was more than welcome too. Great to see the place doing well ✨ Will definitely return ✨
Me my partner our 3 year old and family come to red lion all the time would highly recommend. We had the Sunday roast for the first time today and we will definitely be going back! My sister in law is vegetarian and also said the veggie roast was super nice too!
My daughter and I visited for tea on bonfire night. We are locals and have seen amazing food being served and although we pop in for a drink on a Sunday we haven’t eaten here before. It did not disappoint. The cheeseburger was one of the nicest I’ve ever had anywhere and my daughter had the Yorkshire pudding wrap which she said was incredible. Tender pork and thick rich gravy. We both had the home cooked chips and they were delicious. I had a glass of wine and my daughter had a coke and it was just over 35 pounds which was brilliant for what we received. The service was great and the atmosphere calm and welcoming. Will be booking again with the rest of the family very soon.
Attended a funeral here today and i was amazed by the service, the politeness of everyone and the pub in general. Very welcoming and good environment. I wish I would've taken a picture of my lasagne that i ordered! It was so big! But also very delicious I had it with chunky chips added on extra and oh my they were delightful. The lasagne was amazing, you can tell its home made. I couldn't finish it all so I asked if I could take the rest away, staff were happy to give me a container. Took the rest home, warmed it up and didn't even manage to get a bite, my son ate the lot! I highly recommend eating here, I would be there weekly if I lived in Sheffs! Thank you for a great day and lovely food!
What an amazing pub. Visited as the pub has new owners and the changes are fabulous. The food was amazing staff very friendly and helpful. Enormous portions and perfectly cooked. Will certainly recommend to friends and family and will visit again soon
Went for Sunday dinner yesterday and was so disappointed with the food. I ordered roast beef and it came like a thick piece of steak. No one came over to see if our meal was okay. When I went to pay I was asked if we enjoyed our meal and I said I couldn’t even cut the beef with my knife and trying to eat it was like chewing a load of gristle. The reply I was given was the chef said the beef was really tough. There was no apology or not even given a discount.
Nice friendly pub with an excellent barmaid whose name I wish I'd got. It was our first time in for a meal and she was very attentive and helpful. Food okay made better by the most delicious gravy I've ever had.
This is a traditional pub with traditional looks inside and out. Friendly staff. They have your generic beers and lagers but they also local good real ales too. Cracking place to meet up and download or to host a family event. Sheffield is literally a 5 minute drive away. Great place.
What a lovely experience...to wander into a pub and be greeted with a genuinely warm and welcoming smile from Scarlet, who guided us to our seats, took our drinks order and left us with menus, quickly returning with our Baileys coffee. Our food arrived quickly. The Liver and Onions was Divine. Liver was moist, dissolving in my mouth. Mash was very creamy and the peas were perfect. My son chose the lasagne which he thoroughly enjoyed, along with a portion of the biggest onion rings I've ever laid eyes on. Thank goodness they were not oily, the batter was light and perfectly seasoned. Portions were massive. Definitely great value for money. Scouring the menu, prices are really reasonable...with the portion sizes it's great value for money. Outside seating was well spaced and very clean. Overall a very enjoyable experience. We have finally found our "local". Thanks to Scarlett for a wonderful experience. See you again soon.
