Massively gone downhill over the last 12 months. It’s become such a bizarre, unwelcoming place to drink. Lately the bar is overrun by a small crowd of loud, unpleasant regulars who block access to the pool table area and take over the music, marching down the bar to pick the next song on the iPad whilst shouting to each other in an otherwise empty pub. We left as they selected Eminem - 8 Mile as a good choice for a Sunday afternoon. No commentary was playing on the football being shown, their music being the preference. It’s a tough time for pubs and this place is getting it very wrong. It is hardly a family friendly destination any longer. 6-12 months and it’ll be closed at this rate. This used to be a better pub than the Robin Hood. Compare the two at what should be a busy time for pubs and the Robin Hood is thriving in comparison to The Millhouses.

Nice pub to visit with Casta and Boothroyd. On a busy road but you would not know inside. Very peaceful. Large open plan comfortable pub. Has TV's, and also has darts and a pool table. Popular for good home cooked food. There are tables to the front by the road or a rear basic patio by the car park. Four real ales. The boys had Stancill Barnsley Bitter. Excellent pint.

Just been to the Mill houses pub for a lunchtime meal and drink , we hadn't been there for a while (not since change of landlord/lady) The food was lovely - best pie I've ever tasted-steak and ale! My husband had crispy chicken which was so good. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Can recommend and will definitely go again.

Great place - always good music and very friendly staff. Not my local but work nearby. I tend to come between when my bus gets there and when I have to start my shift - they're very welcoming if I pop in and have to sort out some emails. Thanks!

A proper pub with lovely, friendly staff, great beers, with changing guest beers and a brilliant menu full of fantastic home cooked food and plenty of good vegetarian options. All this creates a great atmosphere, especially if there's some sport you want to watch. The outside seating areas are also very popular and there is even a cosy area to play pool at the back of the pub. Our favourite local.

Reopened for 2weeks now. Had a burger and lasagna today. Food was freshly made. Burger was very testy and delicious, one of the best burgers I have ever had. Good quality meat, well cooked and spiced, home made chips, lovely. Would recommend and will come again.

Visited here with a friend this evening for a couple of their pies, we ordered two Moo & Blue (British Beef Steak & Stilton pies) one with mash, & one with mash & minty mushy peas. Both came after around 10-15 mins, served with a small jug of gravy each, and yes - a bottle of Henderson's Relish was within reaching distance as well! The pub itself is really nicely furnished, classic/modern/industrial & comfy arm chairs which aren't too deep. Chunky dark wooden rustic furniture, and a great selection/combination of real ales and commercial lagers and beers on tap - They also have Sky Sports and BT Sports in the background, it's not their primary feature, just there to cater to people who want to keep tabs on their sports. Back again soon 100%!
