What a fantastic night we had celebrating my mums 80th birthday, there was 14 of us and we were catered for very well, food was amazing and Helen and the team went above and beyond to look after us all! Thankyou!
Visited The castle while our friends dog was being groomed had lovely drinks and different meals for lunch all very nice home cooked food and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely call again 5☆.Also it's a dog friendly pub and our friends dog was given treats from the landlady.
We've been coming here pretty much every weekend since they reopened under Helen and team and it's amazing the difference! The effort that has been put in is so refreshing, we adore the roast dinners, the cheese boards, the service (plus Bella and Dodge!) and we love the selection of games available to play with our little boy when he joins us for dinner and then a walk round the grounds. Our favourite pub :)
The castle ruins are worth a visit for the history and the views are spectacular! The Castle pub has good beer and does food, although I didn't try this.
An older smaller pub but nice fire burning and great views of the local area from outside. Good service from all the staff, lovely helpful and friendly bar staff. We had a meal, lovely choice on the menu and the food was freshly cooked, a group of us ordered and everyone enjoyed it, compliments to the chef. Even the locals in the pub made us welcome and created a nice atmosphere. Will definitely return.
We had family visiting us for the weekend. We decided the castle looked good..The only food on the menu was a roast. When I asked I was told the chef is not cooking anything else. I chose a burger from the kids menu. When it came the burger was burnt black, like a piece of charcoal. I sent it back. I was then told NO burgers left. By this time I had lost my appetite. I won't be returning. Our family visitors could not believe it.
Didn’t have food here so can’t comment. Nice bar staff nice drinks.Could do with a clean and lick of paint. Ladies toilets need to be re done out, was an awful smell coming from the mens toilets of urine! Nice atmosphere and an old building, as I say needs some TLC
